Hey Dennis you inspired me to home build me a double bazooka for 80/40m Band! Keep up the Good Work. 73's de Your Friend Uncle Guenter

I only use the General Phone band for either so I would for sure need to make adjustments for the 80 meter band.I operate more around the 3.900 area .Rarely anywhere in the 3.800 portion of the band.On 40 meters 7.175 to 7.250 is about it as well.I want to get away from my automatic High Power tuner & these are the only bands that I need a tuner at all.I am considering this antenna as a replacement for my Antennas & more G5RV which works very well but it requires the LDG AT-1000 to do so with the ICOM PW-1.

Thanks for the video Denis. Have been looking at this antenna for a while. Like you I have read the postive comments on Eham. But this video helps. Think I will get one. I am currently using a homebrew OCF dipole. Been a good antenna but like you we get some very harsh weather conditions here in Idaho. The OCF is getting a bit weak. 73 W7MCP

Hey Mark, I put the antenna up in early November and it survived both the wind and the ice no problem. One morning I was shocked to see over an inch and a half diameter of ice on it, it survived. This antenna is a great performer i'd buy it again in a heart beat.

I want to build a double bazooka that sits in fiberglass tubes. not as an inverted vee but as a standing V. The two fiberglass tubes are connected at the top with a non-conductive rope and stretched between two trees, the antenna feed is kept in balance with an elastic rope from below. Such an arrangement would also work with a triple bazooka if you had enough tall trees. What do you think about?

dronf Sounds heavy but it might be okay for the upper bands.

I just got one used duble B made for 11 meters. Have not tested it out yet, but 🤞 I am a newbie, and working on ticket. so I figured I get my feet wet in the swamp first.

danialphaomega: They work very well on 11 mtrs.....very wide-banded with low SWR.

Can you shorten the antenna to 3900? Also my ends will be 6ft with a 32’ apex. I don’t know if the center is connected to the shield of the coax like regular bazookas.
@VE3BF5 жыл бұрын
By folding over the ends, as shown in the video you can make the ant resonant wherever you want. I recently re-tuned mine to 3.790 for the DX portion. As far as the shield connection is concerned I suspect it is like a regular bazooka but I have not opened it up so I'm not 100% sure. 73

VE3BF does folding it affect the 40 meter portion also? Still more quiet than a regular dipole?
@1OFGODSOWN2 жыл бұрын
@@JayN4GO The 40 meter portion of the antenna is Preset so the 80 meter portion does not affect 40 meters from all of the information I can find.
