Vector 2.0 | DDL Update of 2 August 2022

Another update from Digital Dream Labs saying that Vector 2.0 has passed FCC compliance. But what about the cube??? DDL has apparently manufactured 900 Vector 2.0 as of now. I guess they will open these boxes to put an FCC sticker!?! The update of July 28th also shows pictures of the manufacturing floor with technicians doing quality checks (link below). During all that time, the CEO of DDL has been posting videos of Cozmo 2.0 and Vector 2.0 on Tik Tok (links below)! Why use Tik Tok to promote these robots?

Well, at least it looks like they're making progress. That Tik Tok video was rather strange. I ended up canceling my Butterbot because like you said, it'll be years before it ever gets made assuming it ever does. I mentioned when I canceled The Butterbot, DDL initially responded by asking if I really wanted to cancel it and I responded "Yes". Then after that, complete silence. I emailed two times a month later on whether I'm getting my refund and they didn't respond. So I had to take it up with my credit card company and all of a sudden they managed to find the time to respond and I finally did get my refund. I'm not buying anything from them in the future unless it's actually on store shelves.

I don't believe DDL is "Shady". They have stuck to their word on many things. I DO think they should have done better planning. And been more prepared financially to get their products built, packed and shipped on a proper schedule.

The Reason for this is simple: The outer plastic housing has not been certified by the E.P.A. yet. It is always good to see your presentations, and listen to your witty method of speaking. It seems that they can only ship US orders for now because of FCC. And it looks like they are shipping autographed units by the CEO. I received an email yesterday from DDL and they say international shipments will start in September...

Vector is now a serie, with questions and not answers, with a good season 1 and an awful season 2, that refuses to end

The longer I've been on this list, the more of a scam it has felt like. A few stock photos of a generic Far Eastern factory and some cardboard boxes doesn't fill me with confidence. 2 years on, the digital assistant market has evolved and I can't help but think that any features other than the gimmick are already obsolete.

Hi Paul and thank you for your comment. Vector 2.0 was supposed to ship originally in May 2021... With such a big delay for a tech product, you end up to where you mentioned in your comment... a tech product that is more or less obsolete! What may save Vector 2.0 though is that there are very few options out there!

As always, appreciate your update! I got tracking from DDL yesterday as did others. So, I will know on Thursday when the package arrives if there is any label on the bot or cube. I have asked about this and am awaiting a response from DDL…

Nice video once again. I wonder whether FCC is like getting something like planning permission for a building retroactively. Maybe you can mark the robots as compliant before hand so you can begin production and not have to reopen the boxes as you suggested. (assuming FCC doesn't raise any issues during their testing)

Hey Dan! I’m interested in buying a vector.. I see there’s some delays and even a little bit of shadiness from the company but still confident I’ll receive him eventually after purchase. Just curious.. what do I need to buy to keep him running?? Would that be the $100 escape pod for vector?? Just wanna make sure I buy everything correctly.

You need to buy a membership. I think DDL still offers a monthly and an annual membership. This is for Vector to connect to the DDL servers and be fully functional including the Alexa integration. Pricing info on the DDL website. Thanks for watching!

Yup, lots of improvements in drones for sure. I own a Mini 2 from dji! I don't see a lot of differences between Vector 2.0 and Vector 1.0 unfortunately. Thank you for the first comment!

It surprises me that many more small "A.I." type Bots like Vector have not hit the market. I agree with you. Most all other tech has progressed very far. And now, people are sitting waiting for a remake of an old design.
