I’m not quite sure in what context you are asking but you can use QP or PQ but must follow the direction from Q to P which is opposite PQ

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to. Are you looking at the derivation of the formula? If you could let me know what time on the video is confusing I may be able to answer you better.
