The budget for 1episode of Attack on Titan is 200,000 dollars...
@herozero88092 күн бұрын
thing with that tho is that figure is at an internal cost, cost to external customer would be much higher than 200k. What i mean by that is that to the company it was 200k but if someone hired the company to make 1 episode they'd likely charge 4/500k
@florian81942 күн бұрын
in addition to what the other chatter said you also have to consider that anime episodes and music videos are not the same. While aot has good animation, there are still a lot of times where not much animeation happens at all, for example when characters are just talking and the framerate is generally on the lower end. Also you need a lot less backgrounds, you don't have to have to create character designs every episode, western studios pay their staff more, ...

For smaller projects with single or few artists, its fine. But for larger ones with multiple artists working on different aspects of your project, its going to be a nightmare to manage all of them by yourself.
@hamingnu66103 күн бұрын
@@nekopasta1637 That's true. But to be honest, out of anyone in the vtuber streaming space, I think it's Vedal who's got the best ability in this very moment to scale up on his own accord. I think he's got enough involvement *right now* in all aspects of his projects that designing a management structure that'll include more people than himself is beyond easy. Obviously, the only negative part is it's gonna take time away from the actual development he does as he begins that process; but I think at some point he'll have to at least divert some of the rest of the management work anyways onto other people who can do things for him and find people for him whenever there's a project that needs a lot of specialized work so that by that point, he's got more time to put onto development instead once he's done investing into that shift. And I don't mean building a big office with 120 employees, I mean just having 2 other people who regularly work with you and manage your stream schedules, ask you if you want this or that endorsement, to tell you there's this other streamer who wants to make a collab but doesn't know how to approach you, to find one or two artists who'll do this or that graphic because everybody else we know is fully booked, to look for somebody to contract who's specifically versed in 3d animation for this or that project, and on topic; to look for artists or smaller studios who are more appropriate for the budget and scope of the project, etc... I think at this point such a thing would make sense, especially since none of that really removes the authority from Vedal which I think none of us would want him to lose, because it's clear that a lot of his visions for the channel are what keeps it relevant. But I actually do think it'd be worth it for him to take off the load from other sorts of things.

Kiara from Holo talked about how much just renting a professional 3d studio costs in EU. Tens of thousands of euro for a few hours of work and that is why Cover invested heavily into their own studio. Those things cost an arm and a leg. Although I suspect that AI would drop the cost in a few years.

@Sk0lzkyКүн бұрын
Given he's talking about commissioning a studio, the scope of the project is probably way beyond realistic for a single person, especially in a reasonable timeframe. If he wants a short neuro suite or idk a neuro chair (I don't make toilets sorry; and yes, I do both of these completely unrelated things, gotta diversify investments or something + music doesn't pay) I could probably vomit something uninspired on my own and in case of the latter really quickly too, but ask me for a symphony and I may come back with something in a year. There's a reason a "Hans Zimmer" movie score not only isn't written by Hans Zimmer, sometimes he doesn't even write for them at all (and tbh a symphony is a bit extreme, as movie score doesn't have to be connected as one piece so you can really make it pretty quickly and lends itself well to procedural production without becoming completely soulless and repetitive).
@Sk0lzkyКүн бұрын
No I'm not going to take a commission for a neuro inlay/carving chair, it was a hypothetical.

Teams almost always hurt a channel/brand. The best creators stay independent for their sake and for their community. It’s great to have a group to commission or collaborate but a formal team is just bad.
@kalamari32883 күн бұрын
Formal teams can be really good as long as you choose the right one. DillonGoo Studios is a good example, I think. It’s basically just a matter of making sure you have a team that is actually passionate about the project and willing to work with your vision.
