You are a wonderful human who I met during turbulent times, during times of suffering (upto certain extent I am able to get rid of that second arrow 😊) especially during the corona period. I spent hours and hours listening you learning and picking up alot of things which are worth more than a lottery ticket. The senior monk who named you got it correct when he said meant sarwa+priya+aananda indeed you are dear to all and blissful in nature. You are a friend whom I never met but one that made a significant impact. I hope you will be able to guide and help many people and I wish you all the very best. I saw a thumbnail of a video which u did about Jesus I think so probably tomorrow I'll get to know more about him :) best wishes to you from Sri Lanka 🙏

Thank you Swamiji and Vedenta NY team for presenting these wonderful and very well organized events . It’s no mean feat ! In this talk, towards the end, Maharaj perceptively mentions that the texts like Mahabharat and Ramayan teach us to put Vedanta into practise in this -messy - world. I am going to study these texts again with that thought in mind. Thanks 🙏

Pranaam Swamiji, recent studies have proved that Vedas are much much older than 5000 years ago. 1500 bc is opinion of Western historians. Naturally, they don't want to admit that Sanatana Dharma is much much older.

The realisation that it's all a dream - is itself a part of that dream. Therefore, that realisation isn't an escape from the dream. No matter what efforts you take to escape the dream inside that dream, all those are just the parts of that very dream. Therefore let's admit the truth: there's no escape.
@rsr92003 жыл бұрын
Realization is waking up from the “dream” and recognizing that, as Satchitananda Atma: (1) we are the reality of the “dream” as well as the “dreamer”; (2) events in the “dream” cannot affect us; and (3) we need not “escape” the “dream” since we are not trapped in it.

My view on the dating of upanishad as mentioned by Swami is different. Upanishad cannot be just 5000 years back because the Kurukshetra was itself was around 5,300 years back and Ramayana was over 10000 years before Krishna. Upanishads are far far before that. So you cannot even approximately date the upanishads or vedas.
@udayamavin2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree with you. Western historians dont want to admit Sanatana dharma is so ancient. And unfortunately Indian historians, especially leftists like Romila Thapar and others,have followed them in distorting our history
@drsnuffulupacis2 жыл бұрын
The westerners are not taking the verbal history into account, but for written records it is important to note the time that it was first written down, which was indeed not as long as it was verbally.

Upanishadas are written after Mahabharata too. Ramayana might have happened around 8000 years ago

Whats the era of Kotho Upanisad , Is it of the later part of Vedic era ? As we know there were no Concept of Heaven OR Hell in the Vedic era. How Nachiketa developed that thought in Mind .

But is it possible that Nachiketas is talking about going to death like every body else that also will go and reasoning about that, how he is now going ahead and amongst many. At the head of many I go, and I go in the midst of many. What may be the work of Death that today must be done trough me? Remember how men of old past away and how those of days to come will also past away. A mortal ripens like corn and like corn he is born again. I think that he was in some kind of cave or pit enclosed. Because Yama in my language (Serbian that shares the origin with Sanskrit) means a dark pit or cave. "Jagnje" is the word for lamb. Which was exclusively used for sacrifices. "Um" means the mind, from the goddess Uma who was the first to know the Brahman and only by the mind can He be known. And there is 50% of terms that my language and Sanskrit share. Some study says 60% with Bengali strangely enough. Kutija means box and the house. Dva para means dva para two pairs, The fourth - chetvrta in Serbian, and I know many, many more. Jesus also spent 3 days and nights in Earths belly in the Kingdome of Death before being restricted from the spirit. After Nachiketas was done with Yama he also was immortal and by his ritual people went to heaven. Talk about similarities. I always believed Abraham sad his new name after GOD called him was Aham Bram. That the spirituality from the old time of the sages of old, pored into Judaism. That Judaism was established from the same GOD view and the worldview as The Vedanta. But Vedanta was always much closer to the original source of ancient sages about whom bought The Upanishads and The Tao Te Ching are talking about, and Judaism was far away. "I Am The I Am-ness" is the name of God that HE introduced himself to Moses. Come on.
@rsr92003 жыл бұрын
Perhaps one way to reconcile the Nachiketa narrative in the Katha Upanishad with logic is to posit it as a lucid dream experience of either Nachiketa or his father. While we must recognize that the narrative's depiction of an in-person conversation between Nachiketa and Yamaraja is just a teaching vehicle and subservient to the teaching which, as a pramana, must be subject to thorough logical scrutiny as part of our manana, arguably the depiction itself can be supported by logic as well.

For you. You are not the body and mind you are Eternal Spirit trapped in the body, you have forgotten over many incarnations. The Matrix is your own bio computer brain machine that keeps You in the illusion of being a physical Being in a physical world via the nervous system and the five senses. Meditation is putting the body and mind to sleep but staying Awake and Alert inside so you can re experience your Self as Eternal Spirit again, if you remain in this state after Meditation its called Nirvana, Samadhi, The TAO, Born again, (jesus) , SELF Realization Yogananda, Satori, Inner Witness (Krishnamurti), Universal Mind, Obtaining the golden fleece Greek mythology, Eden etc etc all the same.💕
