Coordination number of Na with respect to Cl is 6. Coordination number of Cl with respect to Na is 6. Coordination number of Cl with respect to Cl is 12. So we get 3 types of coordination number. Actually totall Coordination number of Cl is 18(12+6) 12= wrt Cl and 6=wrt Na). Here Cl formed FCC packing so Coordination number of Cl with respect to Cl is 12. I hope u understand this.
