I've seen a lot of holster videos. Yours is one of the very most useful and I think I'm gonna get a Vedder holster!

Great video...I only own their IWB by Vedderholsters for a G19 and CCO 1911 in appendix carry. Thank you for the OWB waist side carry demo. Love that this holster is slim and very close to your side with the pancake clips. Definitely going to try this one out as an option to my EDC.

I get this from all my OWB holsters. Leather on leather was way louder than Kydex on leather. If you wear a nylon belt, it does reduce the noise.
@slickdaddy125 жыл бұрын
I've learned after wasting a lot of money that a carry can be concealed very well owb. A quality nylon gun belt like the Kore Essentials. Use the optional pancake belt clips which hold it very close. I like comfort. OWB is a lot more comfortable and allows faster acquisition. I use only OWB.
@Steve-Goff5 жыл бұрын
- absolutely. I honestly think this OWB holds my Shield as close to my body as my IWB. The only issue I have with it is the real estate it takes on my belt. From clip to clip is about 8 inches

I own a Kore V3 Brown leather......absolute best discrete carry doing an excellent job. I have owned Amish Made, Heavy Leather, Tactical HOLSTER belts......nothing beats the Kore in comfort and ease.

For about 12 years I had a Raven Concealment OWB holster for my Glock 19 I wore a few times in the woods (private property) on a leather belt and I actually didn’t like it. The other day I wore just for curiosity with my Kore belt and it was amazing I tucked in my t-shirt and put on a button down shirt (didn’t button it) and went to a family Christmas party nobody could tell not even my mom who notices everything on me (😂😂😂). When all the guys sat around sat around while the women were yapping in the kitchen I stood up and showed them (we all carry) they where shocked on how well it conceals, and now they all want one.

The pancakes straps made a crucial difference with my two OWB holsters. Belts loops didn't hold the pistol tight enough to the body...even for the range.
@InSightFreedom6 жыл бұрын
Man. That really snugs up nicely. Looks line a beautiful finish. The only OWB holsters I have are leather. This looks like a great option for the Shield for sure.

@@Steve-Goff glad it worked for you I personally favor Tenicor great products and great customer service, but they only make for a limited amount of firearms. I have 2 holsters from them IWB one for my G43x and the other for my 365xl and I can’t say enough good things about them. I just ordered a Vedder OWB for my 365xl to try it out, my personal experience with Vedder hasn’t been good from their holsters to customer service I actually threw them away, but I am giving them a last chance to make it right.

Good video, as you like the Vedder holsters, have many. For OWB carry a proper belt is required and generally a leather belt only is not enough as the weight will tend to bend the upper portion allowing the holster and gun to loosen up on the waist.

I know this is an older video, but...I oil my belts occasionally with mineral oil. It'll keep leather from wanting to crease, crack, or rub against materials roughly.
@79Bunta6 жыл бұрын
It's the "wing style" clips that rub on the belt that make noise. I had the same issue. I switched to the regular belt clips and the noise went away. So I reinstalled the wing style with thicker o rings and the noise seemed to have gone away. Other than that noise, the holster was great.

Is this the easiest OWB To conceal in your opinion from what you’ve tried?
@davidgearardo17884 жыл бұрын
Little late to the party but its all a belt problem, get a blue alpha gear, reinforced, or something like it. No outward bending, super strong. No noise, no droop.

I'm a big guy about your size or more, and I'm wondering if a guy was to flip them clips around to the outside and wore it between jeans and the belt how that would be?
@Steve-Goff6 жыл бұрын
I’m 6’2” and 250. Only problem I see with your thought is that kydex does flex. If your holster was sandwiched between your pants and belt, I can see the opening flexing in making it difficult to unholster. I did look and the clips could be switched but I definitely wouldn’t recommend it
@countryfamilyalways72805 жыл бұрын
You know that dont seem like a bad idea. If I buy an OWB light tuck from Vedder and its dont stay tight to the body I will try your method.

sorry for a stupid question. What is the claw for on your iwb holster?
@Steve-Goff4 жыл бұрын
- it brings the grip of the gun (the most difficult part to conceal) in closer to your body. Result is less printing.

Not sure if you still have that holster but what color option is the front in?
@Steve-Goff5 жыл бұрын
- I still have it. The color is London Tan Raptor. Looks almost like leather. TFW
@jessekaiman51825 жыл бұрын
Oh ok good thanks. I wear khakis alot and I figured getting the front a color similar to that would aid even more in concealment should it ever come uncovered, as opposed to having a chunk of carbon fiber or plain black. I got desert tan I believe it was. It looked like the closest color. Hopefully it is.

Whatever the weather, better in leather. I am an old man, I carried on and off duty back when cops were the only people who could carry a handgun. Over 40 yrs now that I am retired. Everything was leather. I have seen the plastic stuff and I do not understand the fascination with a plastic holster.
@Steve-Goff5 жыл бұрын
- do you have a particular holster or manufacturer that you recommend. I’m open to trying a full leather
@YouTalkinToMeBro5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your service sir. I never knew there was a time that citizens weren't allowed to carry in the U.S. Anyway, I also never understood the big deal about kydex until I tried it. It never smells, it holds it shape forever, easier and more dependable to reholster, easier to clean, more versatility as far as depth, cant, and retention. If you tried it, only then would you really understand like I did. Most of the larger companies also give you a few weeks to try them out. If you decide you don't like it, just ship it back and get your money back. If you like it and it's ever damaged, most have a lifetime warranty and will repair or replace for free. Thanks for your time.
@countryfamilyalways72805 жыл бұрын
And unlike leather it does not absorb moisture to and helps to prevent your gun from rusting and also has a full sweat sheild.

Don’t buy vedder holsters ! If you have a problem with it like the gun not snapping into place, they will argue with you for months until you finally give up and you lose your money and the holster!!!

Lol i just thought it was funny.. I love Vedder.. Ive tried the the cheap 30 dollar kydex companies.. The amazon specials.. Then i found Vedder.. Now everytime i get a new handgun.. I just order one.. They truly do it right.. Best kydex out there... Just sucks they charge so much for the kriptek ones.. I usually just get a solid color but i want that kriptek yeti haha but 20 dollars extra? Ridiculous.. Btw i have a blue alpha gear cobra belt and i love it.. 60 bucks on amazon.. Great quality.
