I absolutely love Joni Patry. She gave me all the basics I needed to begin learning Vedic astrology through her KZbin channel. Vedic astrology actually helped me understand Western better oddly enough. Understanding Nakshatras are second to none if you want to understand someone on the deepest level. At this point, I find it easier to identify people's main Nakshatras than their signs. Once you learn Nakshatras, you can't unsee it in yourself and others. You'll walk around the world identifying people by their Nakshatras instead of their signs. Understanding Nakshatras make it much easier to predict someone's astrological placements based on appearance, personality, mannerisms and more. Nakshatras also make it so much easier to understand someone's core desires, needs and purpose in life. Claire Nakti does a great job of researching this on her KZbin channel. She gives visually explosive examples through her case studies. It's eerily accurate. Joni mentions divisional charts in Vedic astrology, but many are also beginning to explore this with David Cochrane now in western astrology through a process called vibrational astrology. You know, I listened to so many leading experts of Vedic and it made no sense to my brain. To correct myself they made sense its just my brain that did not succeed in making it manageable enough for me to learn. Just look at Claire Nakti's nakshatra vedic astrology videos and you know the sidereal is real. The proof and the patters are mindblowing, even the appereances that the planets never fail to give in terms of the nakshatra + sign's rulership. It's just wow! So accurate, that I obeserve it everywhere and I look up their chart and I'm right. Can even tell their birth nakshatra by of how their eyes are set. Amazing.

Love this video I been needing to hear the distinction. I was born January 22 which in tropical astrology is the cusp of Aquarius and Capricorn but in Vedic astrology I’m a Sagittarius. And my moon in western tropical is Aries but in Vedic it’s Pisces.

Amanda, it would be great if any way possible to incorporate vedic Astrology to your hub. It does make sense with how the vedic Astrology works, like our true ancestors used based on the moon and Stairs, and the planets. Very organic and more of what our ancestors used. Probably even more accurate of what our birth chart reveals. But also very difficult to digest, probably because we have all been brought up with the western Astrology here in the western world. My mind is exploding, but maybe we all need to expand with everything else going on in our world. Every thing we can introduce to our platforms we can digest it in little bite sized pieces. What I absolutely love about your channel Amanda, is that there's no pop up ads that interrupt the message. Thank you for that!!!

Love this I tried learning Vedic and got stuck on the terminology like nakshatras, Joni really helped me get my head around it. I've also not liked the deterministic approach, but think that can be worked around, more soulfully.

With all due regards, there are indications in a chart where it is almost guaranteed predestined due to extremely high amounts of karmic debt in that aspect and it will be very difficult to change it

So I’ve always wanted to have an explanation that was understandable. This was all that and more! I k from a Vedic chart I am a Gemini rising with Sagittarius moon. I get caught up with Padas Dashas (sp?) etc. But I will say the houses and signs that planets fall in under Vedic system feel very comfortable. Thanks again!!

In Western astrology, I like to think of the 2nd house -- rather than childhood experiences -- as the resources you are born into, and then the 8th house as other people's resources as well as the world resources you tap into throughout life.
