Beautiful set Vee!!! I am a self taught nail enthusiast and I started with polygel a few years ago before it was all the rage. Back then Gellish was the only brand, and there weren't many videos to learn from so it definitely took me a while to learn. I was embarrassed to tell people I used it because it wasn't something professionals were using and it just felt so non-professional. Now there's so many brands and colors and videos.....it's wonderful. I still use polygel but have also learned hard gel as well. The only reason I haven't done acrylic is because some people in my house are very sensitive to the smell. Anyway, you did an amazing job and I loved that you let us see that even a professional struggles to learn new things! Using base gel for the slip solution is a game changer isn't it!? I find I get far less air bubbles this way, and it's just wonderful. I'm very seriously considering becoming a nail tech. Recently lost my job after 17 years due to Covid and need a new profession because the travel industry I've been working in was hit so hard and is currently dead because of the pandemic. Watching your videos and seeing your journey as a new nail tech is really inspiring! Sorry for such a long comment but I wanted you to know how much your videos and inspiration means to a lot of people!!!!

@Olive Brissett you need a base gel. There are millions of brands and I don't know what brand Vee is using specifically, but in my experience they're all pretty much the same. I started with Mia Secret and IBD products many years ago. Now I use mostly Young Nails products. I suggest doing a quick Amazon search for gel base coat. Just make sure you get a GEL product that requires being cured in a UV/LED light and not a regular lacquer base coat. Good luck!!

I tried polygel one time and gave up because it was too sticky and didn’t realize I needed 91% alcohol instead of 70% 🙃 but definitely gonna try base gel now!! Thank you I loved this set!!

It’s such a good idea to use the gel base instead of slip solution. I kept having the slip solution flood my cuticles and diluting the polygel making it more runny. I’m def going to try that next time. Good idea!

For marbling if you lay your colours down then take a toothpick and swirl it threw the uncured product it makes for a better marbling. You really did amazing for your second time using polygel . It's all I work with I'm so pleased with this video cheers

adriana denoriega I tried it myself and it totally worked!! I used the one that comes with the kit and it was not sticky at all!! I put a little bit of gel on top of the beat and a little more on the brush and it was soooo easy to work with

I use polygel to. I've done, on myself, about 4 times. It's a learning curve for sure. I use 91% alcohol. It works for me. I've never tried the base but will try next time. I enjoy ur videos! Thank you 😊
