Problem no one knows if a channel is a success. KZbin have to promote these kind of channels. He relied on KZbin , it did but didn't do much. It promotes channel which already has a a lot of viewers.

The most ironic part is: KZbin says they're not worth monetizing because people don't engage with them. And then, after cutting the creator out of monetization, they run ads on them anyway.

@@VEEDCREATORS My guess is: these videos take up a huge amount of resources (persistent storage, networking, etc.) If KZbin monetizes them, they can try to recoup some of that cost. And also if KZbin cuts the creator out of the deal, they discourage others from uploading hundreds of 10-hour videos that get little to no engagement. If it's not a good bang for the buck, they gotta do what they can.

Thank you for taking the time to do this experiment, it definitely made me question things, & further my research into making this type of video. I believe the older channels that make tons of money off of their ambient videos got into the niche first, & used content off different sites to create their videos. Now that those videos exist with those sound effects, music, and images, they can't be reused & monetized over and over. I've heard many times that as long as you use all of your own original content (photographs you've taken, art you've created, sounds you've recorded, music you've composed etc.), you won't have an issue with being demonetized. I've also heard that even if you create all of your own original content, you can still have trouble getting monetized. Unfortunately creating all of your own original content, & attempting to reach the point of monetization is a lot of work to do if you dont end up getting the desired result. I dont think many people would want to risk dedicating all that time & effort into testing it out, just to find out that it wont be monetized. No matter what kind of channel you have/want to have, you're going to have to put time, effort, possibly a little money, and a ton of patience into it. If it's something you're passionate about, do it. If you're hoping to find a get rich quick hack, you'll be sorely disappointed.

I'm passionate about this type of content. My work is 100% original. I got 156 subs and 3600 watch hours so far (~ 4 months). Let's see if it can be monetized. But you're right, it's not easy especially in growing subs and it does take a ton of effort & patience.

You know what helps. Research your own stuff. Me as a starting white noise/ soundscape channel is doing pretty good.. Not worries getting monitized anytime soon. But what i really dislike about channel that give advice ( not you ) is they only tell half of the story. It sounds so simple and quick.. it rather time consuming. Anyways love the experiment you did on your own terms.. 🙏🙏

Thank you for saying this & showing it. As you can see from my name I "fell" for it in July but I'd used healing sounds for years so I wasn't just looking for a get-rich-quick thing it was something I was truly interested in & believed helped people. I was already a regular consumer of these videos & knew what I liked & didn't & what I was looking for when I click on one (I've learned a lot about the fact that just because it looks easy doesn't mean it is to do it well!) I also live in Mexico & have a camera so this channel turned into a cool way to start seeing things around me in a new way, using my creativity differently & getting me out of my bubble & the rut I was in not appreciating what's right outside my door. I saw how daunting it was to even start getting monetization by September & tried to do an event that showed people: "hey... I'm actually a human that cares about this & you" to send the smoke signals of, "I'm not just an exploiter looking for easy cash! I want to have a channel that connects with you"... that blew up in my face & wallet & I almost quit then. (I did have a Halloween video that crushed & blew my mind... over 20,000 views & I made the watch time just thanks to that but over 20,000 people watched it & you can see 1000 didn't even feel compelled to hit subscribe so I was still not able to even hope to monetize... I was kinda crushed & very confused to be honest) But after a holiday break I realized I needed the channel for more than money: it was giving me personal things I need right now & now I have an entire channel of sound videos that I enjoy so I went from a consumer of others to being able to provide a sound video for any health thing I'm working on. But ugh... all my hopes of finding an income source I could actually keep up with my disability: gone again. Oh well... I am a Happy Hermit & I love my channel: money or not. So if you need to make money & that's it: I'd say skip it. If you are sincerely interested in how these tones heal & can find other benefits (I'm learning better camera work, editing, KZbin lessons, etc.) nothing you try is ever a real failure so go for it. Definitely don't look at a sound channel as a get-rich-quick scheme. It's not an easy: I'm going to take this seriously thing either. I've seen channels I'm convinced are just computer generated so I don't even think the people who are succeeding are really doing the work after the programming & some maintenance is done. They just could invest in technology to blow real people out of the water. Nature videos are cool... of course, I make them because I enjoy them & coming up with 30 videos a month that really target different health things mixed right or background lofi, jazz, etc. soundtracks (which I love making but take a ton of time) or videos I go shoot when it's just me & my pups is impossible but even in my nature ones I don't grab just any rain or nature clips... I need to really like it & it needs to be something I'd play as a consumer ( have a few I debate deleting because I don't like my editing & choices) If grabbing lightening clips & rain sounds is all you can or will do... from consumer me... you're really not offering anything special & I wouldn't have hit subscribe even when I was just consuming them not making them. There's a learning curve in using & understanding binaural beats & other tones & mixing them... well like I said... I'm learning a lot but as in most art forms... people valuing your work & making money is not easy & now it turns out KZbin finds them financially worthless as well. (Bet they are annoyed about having to store all of them too) Well, like I said: I have videos to chill me out when I get mad about it & a completely personalized sound channel! (sorry for the long-winded comment but it's been a long 7 months down this road & I hope it helps someone make a real decision about what they are getting into) 💖🐾🗡

That’s excellent. And if you think from a business standpoint, it makes sense, KZbin makes money with adds and people wanting to spend more time on the platform. 10 hours sounds doesn’t make people buy things they see on the add. And thinking from a consumer point of view, I myself used to play some sounds for my daughter as a new born for her to sleep, hairdryer sound, fan etc and I’ve never ever subscribed, made a comment or anything. I would just pray for the sound to be consistent otherwise my baby would wake up lol.

I launched my ambient music channel (the one I'm posting from here and now) in November 2022. It did very little, and earlier this year I shut it down. Then, the itch scratched me again so I relaunched it in May with a new name. YT graciously gave me back all my previous subscribers (all 65-ish of them) after a week or so, and that was nice. Just moments ago (at time of typing) I finally reached 100 subscribers. So I'm 10% of the way there! In my case, I use all original music (a lot of it adapted from pop/rock songs I wrote back in the 1990s), so on that score I should be fine for monetizing. Where I'm unsure if I'll qualify is with the visuals. Mostly I use single images, licensed from stock sites. I've animated some of them, frame by frame, in Photoshop. Others I've just left as they were. I also have used some stock video footage. I'll be interested to see, should I reach the 1000/4000 double, whether I'll qualify. And then, whether it will all have been worthwhile!

Make sure you focus on making videos that you actually enjoy making rather than trying to make money in the quickest way possible. That's the advice right there. You have to love what you do, and the money will come. but if you chase after money alone, it is meaningless and empty in the end.

I can't unfortunately be uploading every day as I have another business to run, and also another channel (growing that one too, but with absolutely different content, mostly filming my self talking about music production, have enough subs but not enough hours). You have definitely verified it's not a get rich quick scheme. And considering it takes 2-3 years on average to get monetized you have to enjoy it. I still really like your videos and got a lot of value from it. I didn't know the no copyright music couldn't be used so happy I learned that early on. Deff an over saturated market yet it's teaching me a lot about how KZbin works. And it's making me want to make videos touring the world and nature trails and what not to make my content more unique. It's still a little foggy how KZbin works with these types of channels yet I figure even if I fail I will learn something and just transition to make my channel better.

As I said in the comments of your previous video on this, starting a meditation channel on KZbin is not a get rich quick game. You cant just upload boring sounds and images that really have no meaning behind them or very little thought gone into them. People who watch this kind of content are not stupid and they do ask for videos with some substance. You cant expect a channel to be successful with only a few videos either. Sometimes it can happen for sure, but that is very rare. To get monetised, you have to be as original as possible and offer something that is worth subscribing and coming back to, time after time with each new video upload. And yes, keep away from videos that talk about riches from easy methods that anyone can do. That applies to anything on KZbin, not just the meditation category. To be successful on KZbin, you need to kep at it, and at it and at it until you finally start making some good money with your channel. But it has to be something of quality that people will want to come back to, over and over again.

Thanks for this. I really wonder how these types of channels get monetized when the people watching them are using them as background sounds and not actually watching or are sleeping. I have KZbin premium, but if you don’t, it’s so weird to think that your relaxing sounds video could be interrupted by a constipation remedy commerical.

We are working on adding alternate ways to make income now. Creating desktop wallpapers and phones based on our original artwork in our videos and a membership program as well. average view duration across the channel I think was an hour and 18 minutes. Will keep trying

You can use masthead ads instead of skippable/ non skippable in stream ads, which definitely aids with the immersion. However, this definitely lowers estimated revenue and RPM

My channel is an ambient noise channel that is geared toward helping people sleep well (though the sounds can also be used for meditation, studying, etc.) I shoot all the video and audio myself. It is a lot of work going out in nature to record this stuff, then rendering 8 HRs of footage, then uploading that massive 4K file to KZbin. If I get to 1,000 subscribers and am not monetized, that’s going to be a BIG BLOW to me - all that time I spent making these videos for no reason. If I can get to the 1,000 subscriber mark and get 4,000 hours of watch time to apply for monetization, and I PROMISE I will do a video showing whether KZbin monetizes these kinds of channels or not when all of the content is original.

Try intro . Lik u talking before u start ur music.. showing or not showing face ur choice but show ur work or ur instruments or mic something n talk for atleast 10secs n then u can go to ur music. Give new new intro in all ur vids which will make ur video unique n valuable..

@@Soothingeffect no I meant add diff videos of u as well along with ur music vids cause yt will not monetize just music even if it is ur own with the videos from pixels. I have done one year of work in my channel n got 4000 hrs n 1000 subs but was not monetized because they said reused content. I'm saying just show ur face now n then or atleast talk in a video or two about how u started this ir how u made this video or soemthing related to ur content.

Hi, I tried a meditation channel a couple of years ago - results terrible! v similar to yourself... Question 1 have you tried using youtube ads to promote this type of channel, even a small amount of ad-spend ? also would you tube take the same view if you used paid stock videos? I produced all my own content and yes it took a very long time to render and upload... I'd like to know your thoughts on how ASMR channels compare to meditation as there's practically no stock usage on the former but often very long vids... Subscribed, thanks for your work!!

Is almost like the real business is............making videos about making money off meditation channels, and sell you a course on how to do it. inb4 "but look at all the money they are making!" Leaving aside that anyone can photoshop or edit the HTML of the page to show whatever revenue they want is its telling that most of these people make their videos from a dingy apartment and can't even afford proper soundproofing despite making millions a year from all their very successful channels.

To save people copying and pasting a small audio loop hundreds of times to create a 10 hour audio, you can put it once into a DAW grab the right part of the track with the mouse and stretch it to 10 hours.

I create artistic videos that are truly one of a kind, each one is a short escapist experience. I seem to be getting my audience slowly, however I wish to try longer 1 hour versions of these. Would love it if ya'll can have a look and just leave your opinions on whether you think they'd work, or if you would be into that. Thanks! :)

you should upload everyday man. not jut 30 videos for a month then stop. you have to make it a fun sidework. upload everyday for 1 year. you even just upload for 30 day and stop and you expect it will grow after 6 months. even you know, you just klick bait people to watch your channels. i dissapointed you stop posting for 1 month and you expect it will grow after 6 months.
