The comment made regarding no one wanted a sequel to DX is far from the truth. If you watched Wrestlemania 22 when Triple H and HBK did the crotch chop in their respective matches the crowd popped really big. And not to mention the lead up to the reunion. Fans wanted to see it. It was Shawn Michaels’ refusal to do the edgy segments that made the DX of the mid 2000s very watered down.

The second half of the Ruthless Aggression Era was complete garbage. For me it ended with Goldberg and Lesnar leaving, Eddie's and Benoit's deaths and the disrespecting of ECW with that December To Dismember PPV. That PPV was the final nail in the coffin that made me stop watching WWE entirely until today. I would say the 2006 ECW One Night Stand was the last thing worth watching with RVD finally winning the big one and everybody then left for TNA. After that the Cena & Orton PG Era began in WWE, and with that the company was dead to me ...

Not sure about you, but if I grew up in todays wrestling era, I dont think I wouldve been a fan. We all know these stories arent real, but that's the point, they can take things to the extreme. I pretty much loved most of the things you complained about here. The reason is that they were a ton more entertaining than what today has to offer, sadly. Ofc there are things that are done better today, like the in ring wrestling and women getting way more respected. But overall, pro wrestling is a mix of many layers: from actual wrestling to acting, storytelling and more. And I think that the ruthless aggression era was one of the best times to be a fan.

There are three kinds of people who fondly remember the Ruthless Aggression Era 1. People who were too young and missed out on the far superior Attitude Era. 2. People who think better technical wrestling made up for the weak storylines and characters of the RA Era. 3. People who only think the Ruthless Aggression Era was good because they compare it to all the trash that followed it. The Ruthless Aggression Era is when I stopped watching wrestling, around summer 2003. From mid 1997 to mid 2003 I never missed a single Raw or Smackdown. It was 2003 when I gradually realized that the magic of the Attitude Era was never coming back. I was in denial throughout 2002 and 2003 hoping it would get better. It didn’t.

I stopped watching WWE during this time. Vince's petty booking, John Cena's cringeworthy rap lyrics, and real-life tragedies used as storylines. But hey, Vince McMahon was entertained and that was/is all that matters, right?? Booked just for 1 guy.

What about the Worst of the Golden Era of Wrestling and New Generation
@tempestfennac9687
@tempestfennac9687 3 жыл бұрын
For New Generation, you could say pretty much all of '95. :P Apart from that, King Mable's push, the Dean Douglas character, Fake Diesel and Razor, Hogan winning the title at WM 9 and the amount of wrestlers with second jobs are all strong contenders.

The reason why they wanted Hogan in a mask is cause they really wanted the Patriot to succeed back in like 97'. This was the only way to make up for that gimmick failure back.

You know the sad part is the Great Khali is now in the WWE Hall of Fame....the HOF is a joke, but he's still in there. Also they could have made the whole Michael Cole being "forced" better if they had just used it to fire him and write him out. Listening to him is unbearable.

@Knight Baseball & Sports You are so right WWE the Hall of Fame is a joke like why the great khali? Can't forget about Kelly Kelly who had no personality or charisma & was forced on WWE fans like it made no sense that WWE would push her instead of all of the other women who actually had Charisma and a personality, also made no sense of her becoming the Divas champion

I Heard a rumor that kane was going to retire after the fake kane angle but changed his mind when he realised they were going to continue the character. Probably just a shitty rumor but it sounded good lol.

Eh.....I don’t take the Eugene characters as “the fans laughing at him” they were supportive of him. For instance his segment with Coachman and part of his story with Triple H. He did get some good stuff in on Triple H so I didn’t think it was that bad

I didn’t realize that the downfall of muhammed Hassan was because he addressed the bombings on tv, I thought that the major backlash was from the segment with the undertaker.

So watching this and it got to the Kane and lita part. He said they came to an arrangement that she would.... Then immediately after him saying that, I got an ad where a picture popped up and said, "knock knock yum yum", and I didn't even know it was an ad until someone started talking about a burger place.... I thought the agreement was that she would knock knock with him and get a little yum yum...

Another worst of the Ruthless Aggression era, they brought back Paul Bearer with the returning dead man version of the Undertaker only to have him kill Bearer off television again after Backlash. Even worst the Dudley Boyz who recently just reunite at the time were given no storyline and plan to the leave WWE afterward to join TNA Impact the year after the ECW PPV.

Nah dude as someone who grew up at the tail end of the attitude era and the beginning of the ruthless aggression era, I loved the return of DX for the kayfabe storyline purposes. Correct me if I'm wrong but that angle started out after triple H kept getting jumped and triple teamed by Legacy led by Orton. When he initially recruits Shawn back and Shawn gives his kayfabe current job's manager the sweet chin music in the middle of catching a viscious ear beating still gives me goosebumps to think about. And say what you will, having HHH send HBK off on a boyish errand or distraction or whatever it was before he asked some women to flash him was a funny way to include Michael's newfound faith into the storyline. It was almost like breaking the fourth wall....or....rather the 3.5th wall so to speak lol. Does it live up to the initial run? *FUUUCK NO.* Not even close. I would never try to make that argument even just to troll. But I definitely don't think it deserves to be included in a "worst of" list. Just my personal opinion tho. To each their own and I thought they did as well as they could with the PG13 and born again christian limitations.

I loved the Mohammad Hassan character, but the totally ruined it by doing the stupid sacrifice ceremony thing the day after the 7/7 attacks. Very stupid. That dude was a great actor and had an awesome character, they just ruined him by associating him with terrorism instead of social justice.

I noticed that near the end of the video, is my WWE 2K17 depiction of Vee Infuso, with the Project: Origin Wrestling Hardcore Championship. Not to brag, but like Kurt Angle says: "It's true." 👍 BTW: awesome video. I almost forgot that Heidenreich bit, and Matt Morgan stuttering.
