Ramana Balachandran is an amazing artiste for whom carnatic music is yet another form of expression of devotion. Hence his music is captivating, his musical knowledge growing by leaps and bounds and his fame is growing steadily. My prayers to the Lord for this young boy to grow and contribute to the ocean of music and devotion. May the Lord Bless him in abundance and grant him robust health.

This is very nice, and other than enjoying Indian music I know almost nothing about it, but even though I would not understand most of any description of what he's playing in this recital, *surely* this could be more informatively described than just 'Veena Recital by Ramana Balachandran' ? (Like names of the other artists on their instruments, name of the selection(s) he's playing?) The video itself is also very nicely done, I think.

I would have written same comment a few years ago. Indian music is as vast as the universe and even with info, it remains difficult to navigate, somewhat. I still can't say anything on the subject of rag, raga, ragam. It's long road, but as usual in Asia: The master doesn't teach, the student watches and learns.

Where does the electrical noise come from? In analogue times, anything could go wrong, but we're digital now.

What's the pitch of the Veena pls? Very nice Thanks
@guitarguy13817 жыл бұрын
It's really unfortunate that the beautiful sound of the veena has been a bit muffled by the pickups. I hope you are able to find a better pick up to bring out the naturally amazing sound of the veena!

I agree with the guitarguy1381 wholeheartedly that the lovely veena sound is mercilessly demolished by this pick up business. Why amplify with attachment when a good mic would do the job? Narayanakurup Kanthikumar/Capitola/Calif

Thankfully the sound began to be more sweet in the Abheri's Entacheluvake. Mridangam guy is absolutely delight. May him along with the vainika rise to the tops. Let him listen to countless hours of Palghat Mani Iyer tapes to learn the art of restraint and perfect timing without overlaps. I hope he will not indulge in one continuous play, the hallmark of all mridangam players in circulation these days. NKKumar/Capitola

Hamirkalyani is always a welcome raga. Add to the joy Swati Tirunal's lovely "Gangeya vasanadhara Padmanabha", we are in heaven. This young vidwan's idea of singalong is one of the best ideas. For old folks such as me his singing confirms the identity of the song. Pranams and long life to Shri Ramana. Also to the pakkom young men. NKKumar/Capitola
