I'm imagining a Rimworld mod that completely rebuilds the colonist AI to utilize some LLM like ChatGPT, but small enough to run on a player's PC. The existing experiments from Stanford and elsewhere had a Sims-like game that featured real communication between pawns that allowed for things like passing information between pawns (One pawn was started with the desire to throw a Valentines party. They invited all the other pawns on their own.), division of labor (pawns volunteered to bring things for the party), and extensive social interactions. A follow-up experiment changed the townspeople throwing a party for employees of a software company. The prompt was to make a piece of software. It worked. ChatGPT, which the current experiments require, is probably too much for a single PC to run at anything like real-time speed. A much more stripped-down version will be needed to breathe life into the pawns. Thankfully, attempts to make Large Language Models more efficient in terms of space and resources are proceeding and the motivation to produce a product that will allows these capabilities for AAA games. Some open-source variant will be made shortly after that.

@@divinehorror2543 Where attempts to integrate CRPGs like Skyrim or Mount and Blade with ChatGPT have been tried, the bottleneck has been ChatGPT. Otherwise, the gameplay seems to do fine in integrating an NPC with whom you an have a meaningful conversation. The Skyrim ChatGPT companion is pleasantly snarky and doesn't quite take your status as the Dragonborn very seriously. One additional hurdle for RimGPT would be the need to integrate a database to act as long-term memory for the AI. It may not be necessary for every pawn, but having something that can be consulted so the AI agents know _why_ they feel the way that they do will be needed. The additional overhead for a memory and event database would probably be fairly minor compared to the interaction AI itself.

9:11 well true it's technically not illegal as long as no other crime is committed, however in most places like the US. It's considered desiccation of a corpse unless the person is an organ doner, has a religious belief that allows it, or specifies it in a will. Should also consider that roughly 80% of people will become violently ill or develop sever mental stigmas if consuming it cooked or not. It takes a hard lack of morals or a lifetime of being accustomed to it to avoid things like melancholy, depression, guilt, remorse, suicidal thoughts, the shakes, nausea, etc. I wouldn't recommend it lol

Fun little bit of trauma for you, regarding cannibalism. If a person dies on the street, you can eat them. Nothing stops you. As long as you do not steal their stuff, and you just eat from their corpse, it's legal. You can only be charged with creating a public disturbance, which doesn't always stick. If you didn't murder the person, or harm them in any way whilst alive, it's fully legal. This may sound weird, but the reason even the family cannot sue you, is because they've not yet "claimed the corpse" as it were. Corpses by themselves are no one's property. If they were, corpses could be sold legally by the owner, and that's going too far. If a family member is nearby and can identify the corpse, if I'm correct, they can claim the corpse. But if they're not there, no one is present who can, which means a cannibal could "dig in" without consequence. If the corpse has not been claimed, any assault on the cannibal is just that; assault, that's a crime, even if they're jaw-deep in a chest cavity. There. Kinda messed up, even if it does make sense. I obviously do not encourage you to eat a corpse. It might be illegal for someone to stop you, but that won't stop them morally. Often, you will just be shot or beaten to death. Morals are still a thing, and families feel quite strongly about their own, alive or dead.

but won't you be messing with a crime scene at that moment? if someone's dead because they were murdered or they ...hm.. unalived themselves (no idea if YT bothers with such words in comments) then it's a crime scene and police must investigate it first, the corpse must be studied and tested for poison, wounds etc and if you just come around and cut yourself a piece of a flesh.. police and doctors would definitely mind that and deem such tidings as a deliberate harm in order to mess with the evidence i reckon. or not?

@@loonywolf2012 If someone just slumped over, it's not a crimescene 'yet'. As soon as the police rock up, they need to ask you to leave, and you must comply immediately. People might try to get you convicted, cuz of social things, but that's where witness testimonies come in. No one is legally allowed to lie in court to get you convicted, that's a crime, so you're actually safer in public if you decide to munch it. It's got to do with that corpse owning thing, can really make things difficult, or sometimes even vague, but no, it's not disturbing a crime scene until you're told to leave. Refusing to do so is a criminal offence.

Fun fact: Eating human meat is not a crime, however its incredibly hard to get human meat legally, i cant remember the one avenue there is. But it is possible, and would be totally legal.

I wanted to explain the grandson thing -- and how the grandson could be older than the grandparents. Chronological age is what the game actually uses - not the physical age. I'm born in year 0. I turn 13 in year 13. (Game logic, I'm old enough to have kids) I become pregnant. (Game looks at this as INSTANT gestation period for the math) Child is born. I'm still 13. I go into one of those casket things that preserve my age. My baby grows up to be an adult. My chronological age is 26, but my physical age is 13. My baby becomes pregnant. My baby lives out their entire life. My grand baby is now 0. I'm 13. 10 years go by. I'm now 36 chronologically and 13 physically. My baby is 23. My grand baby is 10. (This is the 3 year difference you have in game. 10 more years go by. Now I'm 46 chronologically, 13 physically, my baby is 33. The grand baby is 20. I am removed from stasis. Now my grand baby is technically older than I am. I could have also be removed from statis a few times to bond with my grand baby. Also, while I don't know how long this can go on for - there is now age reversal process. I forget the extent that the game will generate pawns but I think it's Grand-parent/child, parent/child, siblings, (ex-)lover, (ex-)fiance, (ex-)spouse. And it will attempt to fix the rest of the relationship names as it goes. I'm trying a play through to find out how picky the game is about insist. Starting with 5 unrelated pawns and see how long they can go before the game warns me. The family tree is already super weird. I have a grandma with one of the grandkids of the other 4 colonist that I started with. Hope this helps. Probably going to get a going to get a bunch of hate for the 13 pregnant thing. Direct that anger at the developers if this is you. I'm only describing it.

You should stream on Kick as well, Twitch is going downhill fast as all us long time users cancel subs due to their hypocrisy in rules and favoritism for "content creators" who literally just sit naked for 6hrs a day. At the very least, kick lets us tick a little box that completely removes all the thot tub and gambling streams - and best of all bitchzos doesn't take a cut, practically all the money from subs going to the creator!
