Brown Mark was the bassist for Prince's The Revolution band of the 80's. You can see Mark's Funk groovin' while playing that bass. I can proudly say I met two people on there and I can't believe they were in the presence of SRV. Wow. This floored me then, still does, what a combination! - Gary

Stevie had so much respect for Stevie Ray. He heard Stevie Ray's rendition and immediately said, Damn that's good...Stevie Ray was so worried and was so relieved. Anyone who hasn't heard the story behind it should check it out. So many greats that Stevie Ray played with....loved him to death Never gonna be another.

There’s 49 people who gave this a thumbs down; I’d like to think their finger slipped in meaning to press a thumbs up. How can you not like this? This is legendary, never to be repeated in history ever again. Stevie and Stevie, two of the best technical musicians of all time born on different sides of the track, coming together for this was a really beautiful thing. Hits me right in my nostalgia organ.

Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jody Watley, Salt-N-Pepa and Brown Mark all in one fever dream of a performance. The 1980s is a pretty celebrated decade for music but I don't think people truly give due to just how stacked Stacked STACKED with talent it was... just absolutely overflowing with it from January 1, 1980 to December 31, 1989.

This was MTV at it's peak. From '86 thru '90 was, to me, when they finally got it. Up till then, they were still learning and tweaking the product. This period is when artist taylored their music to do well on MTV. So many great programs I remember. Headbangers Ball, the interviews, the weekly countdowns with Martha Quinn & Allen Hunter, Nina Blackwood & JJ Jackson (RIP) Now, Wouldn't piss on it if it were on fire. Once "Yo, MTV Raps" took off, so did I.

1963 (14 years old) in Oz studying for my high school exams listening to rock AM station 2SM and at 8.45pm they would play 4 new tracks each weekday night which you could phone in and have a vote. On came Stevie with Fingertips Part 1 / next Saturday caught the train into the city and ordered the single then waited 2 months for it to arrive. Finally picked it up and played the 45RPM to death over the next few years but I had discovered my life long hero til this day.
