the cognitive part wasn't researched enough, because B12 comes from bacteria and not animals, we humans used to get B12 from water and roots/root veggies because the soil also had B12 producing bacteria but now we don't drink natural water and the soil quality is degraded now, and the animals that people eat are also fed B12 supplements because they don't produce a lot of B12 either. And vegans don't only get their B12 from supplements but also from nutritional yeast, some kinds of mushrooms, tempeh, fortified food, nori etc. and also that girl who died on a plant-based diet had an eating disorder called orthorexia and she became plant-eater to hide her eating disorder, she also didn't drink water for 6 years and she didn't cook her food either

Gaurav says that we should take both non-veg and veg in balance, but I think non-vegan food is connected with taking someone's life, separating parents from children, and many other forms of cruelty too. For example, there are no dosa, phucka, idli, sambhar, veg pizza, bhail, or rajma chawal in Pakistan.Also when Pakistani people's make aloo, we does not just make aloo(potatoes) but makes aloo gosht or aloo(potato) chicken. Pakistani even don't make veg biryani; they either make gosht biryani or chicken biryani. Some people even add chicken to daal (lentils). We only have lentils, pulses, and some vegetables in vegan but some Pakistani even add beef or mutton to vegetables.

1. If you are not allowing B12 supplements to be counted for Vegans and vegetarians to keep the comparison "fair", then you should also account for the B12 supplements given to livestock. Everyone takes supplements. Vegans and vegetarians just take them directly. B12 is not an animal product. It's a bacterial product and animals in the wild get from the bacteria in soil and natural water bodies which livestock do not eat or drink from. They are fed supplements too. So everyone is taking supplements directly or indirectly. 2. Omega 3 fatty acids are not lacking in a vegan diet. Flax seeds, chia seeds and hemp seeds the literally the best sources of omega. In fact the only non-vegan food with any decent amount of omega 3 is fish. The rest have it in very minuscule quantities. Heme iron isn't an essential nutrient. In fact, the reason red meat is classified as a class 2 carcinogen is because of heme iron. Plant based sources of iron, especially in presence of vitamin C are comparable to iron supplementation. Calcium is abundant in green leafy vegetables like kale and bak choy and has higher bioavailability than in milk. So if people are eating 2 servings of green leafy vegetables a day like the dietary guidelines recommend, they get 36% of their calcium from that alone. Also, since milk is vegetarian, there are no good non-vegetarian sources of calcium. Eating 2 handful of cashews or 1 handful of pumpkin seeds a day is enough to meet 25% of the daily zinc requirement alone. Creatine, carnosine and taurine aren't even essential nutrients. Your body produces them. 3. All diets need to be well planned. If you are eating whatever you want, vegan or not, you are low or deficient in some or the other nutrient. The only difference is, if you die from malnutrition while not being vegan or vegetarian, it won’t be blown up by the media at all. 4. Human brains did not necessarily grow because we started eating meat. That's just a hypothesis. Not a very likely one at that, else we would observe more and more animals who went from herbivorous to omnivorous see that shift. Other more likely hypothesis is that we started cooking food, especially starches which resulted in lesser energy being used for digestion and the surplus was used for the brain growth.

I was a non veg eater. It's been 3 months since I shifted to veg diet. I'm telling my diet. I'm 65kg wt. I eat Paneer, Soya Bean and Mushrooms shuffling each day like two days Paneer then next two days Soya and vice versa with rice and daal during lunch. I drink sattu every week or eat nuts ( cashew, almonds and walnuts ) before going for morning walk. I eat either moong or masoor dal, every day during lunch or dinner and kele ke phool ki sabzi and red spinach sometimes. That's all. If you want to go for veg diet then you have to consume dairy products because you need equal protein to your body weight.

If anyone goes to the gym then you can make a shake with Sattu. Add jeera, salt and lemon with sattu water. You can also add by grinding pumpkin seeds, almonds and walnuts into the sattu powder. If you have low pressure then skip pumpkin seeds as it lowers blood pressure.

My grand father was pure vegetarian and he lived 81 years and my grand mothers is living today at the age of 90 year pure veg without any disease...even there siblings lived more than 80 years on pure veg diet ....but new genration means there sons and daughters are struggling to live even at 60-70 ...i think this is not diet only.. it is the effect of more money mindedness...more competition...more stress is the major cause of our detrimental health

My Grandma was born 1913 - died 2016 age 103 , her hair never turn white colour when she died, since I was born she love very much, she was sharing me her life story , how she was struggle her life when 1and 2 world war and Vegetables Using of chemical, she didn't knew what science speak about life, Vegs and Non- Vegs... She ate meat ( Jungle Rabbit, Monkey,dear,beef, buffalo,Junglefowl,hen,pork etc), but I still remember what she was saying about vegitable, all the market vegitables and crops are the use chemical while planting, many fruits are injected, so when Her eyes become blur her age of 90yrs she said she ate a vegitables collected from the market after stop eating market vegitables and 2 months later her eyes became great again, And she said future rarely people will live the age 100 above in this world because of Chemical fertilizers, and she said meat we ate will not effect in our body. But should cook properly. Whe she died the age 103 , her eyes geat condition and her hair not turn white colour with long black hair.... From noth east India

The omega-3 fatty acids found in flax seeds and other similar sources are in the form of ALA, which is not directly bioavailable to human's as EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) or DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Our bodies can convert ALA into EPA and DHA, but the conversion rate is quite low, typically only about 5-10%. Therefore, it is challenging to meet the body's EPA and DHA requirements through flax seeds alone. The ONLY sufficient vegetarian source of bioavailable omega-3 (EPA and DHA) is algae. To get this, you would need algae-based supplements, as you ofc cant consume algae directly in a regular diet. So, please do your own research before advising others to do so.

Vegan is incomplete diet for Humans. I was a hardcore Non Vegetarian once and and now turned totally Vegetarian. I can tell you my personal opinion. When I left the Nonveg diet, initially I was craving it like some drugs, but eventually the craving gone away and my below points improved alot. 1. Stamina, as I practice martial arts, stamina is the key. 2. Acidity, gas and indigestion problems are totally gone. 3. At mental level, I could not see any changes. I don't think our mind powers are based on our diet. Some are naturally smart and can do multiple calculations and some are naturally slow. I've seen people making dumb mistakes irrespective of their diet. The brain development during evolution is not based on Nonveg diet, but cooking the food. As we are cooking anything, we are changing the Structure of that food and it became easy for digestion compared to uncooked food. E.g. A raw leaf of spinach will take more time to digest thn the cooked one.

There is a guy in my class belongs from muslim community, consumes meat 4-5 days in a week and having sharp mind with good intelligence. Meanwhile, similarly there is my cousin and his family adopts flexitarian diet in which both veg & non veg included. My cousin's academic performance is excellent. I believe it's just a myth to say that meat will shrink your brain power. If that's the case then nation like Japan, korea, China, USA etc should not have been developed this much! Ultimately, it's all up to an individual wether the person want to live only with veg or only with non-veg irrespective of concerning about own's cognitive development. In my personal opinion, overwhelmed consumption of anything always harms. Then technically, people concerning for thier nutritious health must adopt flexitarian diet i.e. diet of both veg & non-veg.

My friend is a non vegetarian. Last year suddenly he thought of becoming a vegetarian and stopped eating all non-veg including egg. After 3 months he felt sick and got fever and his bones and muscles started to pain. After tests it was found that heI was defecit in vitamin D and B. So no sudden decision of becoming a vegetarian. Eat a balanced diet and all will be good. And as Gourav said always say no to red meat.❤
