That Daiya shouldn’t even still be on the market. Their Cutting Board version is better. It still baffles me that they haven’t just replaced it. 🤦🏻♂️

Same. The regular Daiya is just so bad.
@ksm5205 жыл бұрын
I prefer the original daiya flavor in certain sauces that I make where the cutting board collection don't taste as good with it in it. I'm glad they still have both but original isn't good on it's own it needs other things where as cutting board collection is good on it's own.
@madonna8165 жыл бұрын
ksm520 you’d adapt. The annoying part is most stores are lazy & have just kept carrying the original, making CB so much harder to find. It’s bad for their brand & bad for the majority of people, as well as the animals.
@vaneyjane5 жыл бұрын
For some reason, the Daiya that you buy wholesale for restaurants is actually ok (no strange chemical taste). Not my favorite but much better than the one in stores.
@FunkyToe3695 жыл бұрын
@@ksm520 Yeah I think they have their own uses. The Cutting Board seems to me to be a bit blander, but in a good way as weird as that sounds. I used it to make nachos and it was perfect for that. The regular seems to have more flavour but if you use too much/if it's a dominant flavour I find it can be very chemically and weird. Neither of them are my favourite cheese options but they are widely available so that's a plus. But I'm glad they both exist, you just need the right one for the recipe.

Violife is killing it. It’s my number 1 too. First time I seen it in my health food store they had a deal on it and I’m glad I tried it. But given the fact that these cheeses are so expensive I’m starting to learn how to make my own vegan cheese.

This comment in a year old and I just wanted to point out that the prices of vegan meat and cheese replacements _are_ dropping pretty steadily. @@lemurlover7975 thank you so much for this reply. It's a cliff I have been terrified to leap from. I spend all my time reading reviews of vegan cheeses and watching video after video. I love cheese, and it's been hard to give it up, but I always fear that I will not enjoy vegan cheese. It's kind of a ridiculous thing to be afraid of, but I totally am. I'm gonna brave up and try some non-Daiya non-Chao cheeses. I have Miyoko's cheese recipe book on hold at the library, so I'm hoping I can learn to replace all the cheeses I love. Hope you're well and have a great weekend!

Thank you so much for this thorough taste. I'm going to follow your recommendation for VioLife. I really like their parm crumbles.

I’m lactose intolerant but love cheese and have been exploring how plant based cheeses can stand up. Please do more types of cheeses! Sour cream? Are there cottage cheese plant based options? All of it! Please!

Oh I really liked this video and I hope you do try other fake cheeses (particularly other types used for other purposes like mozzarella, as you mentioned). I appreciate your honesty and descriptiveness too. Very good video.

Definitely try the whole Violife line if you can! They make everything, even cream cheeses and a block of parmesan that is pretty good! A bit of a waxy texture, but spot on flavor. Like someone else said, they also have the best mozzarella.
