The problem with Chao is it isn't fortified. You guys should talk about essential vitamins in addition to sodium. I know this isn't what ya'll are about...but having no calcium in a cheese substitute is huge for veganism. Thank-you for your content.

The world has come far from the days when I became vegetarian in the 90s, and the easiest way to get tofu was to buy dried soybeans and make it yourself. I'm not full vegan, but I've swapped much of my dairy for vegan alternatives. They are so good these days.

@hopegold883 Yes, in Finland. We had tofu in bigger supermarkets, but I lived in a very small village, with small stores, and the big city was an hour drive way. I didn't have a licence, so I occationally took a bus to the "big city" and bought a bag of soybeans from the Arab market, because I had found a recipe (in a cookbook I borrowwd from the library, because internet wasn't a thing yet), which required tofu. I was ahead of my time, being the first kid in school to go vegetarian. 😁
