I considered transitioning to a vegan lifestyle April 2016, and when I asked my boyfriend at the time about it he was like "well what are WE going to eat? Why would you want to?" clearly against it. We ended up breaking up shortly after (for other reasons lol) and then I made the change! I love it so much and I recently met this guy who isn't vegan at all, but is super open minded! He calls restaurants for me to make sure they have vegan options/can things vegan. Even though I've told him I don't have any issues with him eating meat, he tries to eat as vegetarian or vegan as possible when he's with me (usually lol). I really enjoy your videos because as lame as it probably sounds, I always figured I'd have to date a vegan because no one else would want to be with me lol

Kallyn Michelle the same thing happened to me...my long-term boyfriend wasn't supportive of me being a vegetarian and got defensive when I mentioned me trying to go vegan or even him trying to do meatless Monday...long story short, we broke up recently and I feel...free I guess. I just recently transitioned to vegan and I couldn't be any happier!

Please let me know if you guys ever visit Atlanta! There are two vegan places here, Herban Fix and Go Vegetarian, that both have very convincing fish dishes. One is a fish filet and the other is a fried fish sandwich with tartar sauce. The sandwich shop is really heavy stuff but a good twice a year treat! Ireland looks so charming!

When you guys get a chance, the first episode of season 3 of Chef's Table on netflix is about a vegan Buddhist monk and her cooking. Similar to Hare Krishna, a lot of Buddhist monks abstain from garlic, onion, and a few other aromatic vegetables. It's a really fascinating documentary. Edited: Changed season 2 to season 3

Ahhh I love this channel sm! I know I’m quite late to leaving a comment but I just wanted to give a little explanation behind the reasoning of not using garlic or onions in the food at Govinda. The owner is a more religious hindu and in our religion when it comes to making food as offering to god we don’t put onions or garlic in the food because we want it to be pure and not have the smell. But most indian dishes do include onions and garlic!

Currently in Dublin and went to Yogism for breakfast to try the buckwheat pancakes and met the lovely woman who explained their coconut yogurt...she gave my family and I little samples of an Indian mango smoothie with the coconut yogurt! She was so sweet. We then went to Cornucopia for lunch and I had a savory pie with mashed potatoes, kale, fennel and cauliflower and a chickpea salad with cauliflower, coriander and tahini sauce...absolutely amazing. And to top it all off when we were walking around the city we ran into a vegan booth with locals who were advocating animal and human rights! Highly recommend coming to this vegan-friendly city 👍🏻

My grandfather is Indian. He told me about different religions from where he came from as well. I don't know much about it so excuse me if I get some info wrong. Anyway, he said root vegetables are passions foods too. So anything that can discontinue the growth of the plant or animal is wrong. So meat, dairy, wax, insects, roots, and any other food that is either from an animal or is hurting a plant. Then he got mad that I called myself a vegan bc he said that word was stolen by other cultures and they all do it wrong... :/
@soyouredatingavegan7 жыл бұрын
Well gramps is certainly entitled to his opinion about ethical eating, but the word 'vegan' was coined by an Englishman in the 40s. www.vegansociety.com/about-us/history
