Thanks for posting this. I have a friend who has a similar perspective and always asks, "how could you bring a life in this horrible place?" I say I will teach my children to be righteous for humanity (InshAllah) and mention the Prophet (PBUH) saying we should still plant a seed. This gives me more to respond to some of his arguments. JazakAllah.

Ok but whats the problem with just not bringing new people into being? Why not just adopt and teach your adopted children those values? Is it a tragedy that you dont have more siblings than you already have?
@ahsanace212 жыл бұрын
@@eg4848 There's no problem in that. Infact, muslims do adopt and are the #1 in charitable giving because its part of who we are. Why impose restrictions on what humans naturally able to do. Now use this same energy at stopping western Imperialist powers who have created orphans in muslim counties through their unjust wars.

Dude, most atheists only object to life when God enters the equation. Otherwise, they love life and find it precious despite hardship. A quick overview of their back and forth with each other will show you that. I was shocked at their hypocritical display.

What kind of philosophy is that to minimise suffering is their overarching objective Without suffering humans would no grow...you can even argue that war is necessary to some extent to humble humans etc If by his standards we only eat plants that could cause massive disruptions to the ecology of life and cause more suffering...humans may then have to eat more plants then animals in the process...that could cause inbalances..you may even get more pests in society which causes more issues then first thought Yes we agree that corporations have caused environmental catastrophes due to their overarching objective of making a profit

Surprisingly few Muslims seem to know about that. I often saw Muslims in their countries, hitting farm animals, or cutting the tendons of a bigger animal, like camels to prevent it from fleeing, while it's slaughtered. This is haram, according to none other, than our Prophet sAaws! People should know!

Yusuf ... Jazzakh Allah khairun brother for dealing with this veganism argument .... I'm sick and tired of these people pushing their plant based diets on us ... I stopped red meat and now I'm highly dangerously anemic but Alhumdhulillah I've started eating red meat again in moderation
@zafarparkar982 жыл бұрын
I think veganism itself can be argued against, but the meat industry as it exists (and also forms THE major percentage of meat consumed) is virtually impossible to defend. And we shouldn't use arguments against veganism itself to excuse our eating habits that clearly perpetuate the meat industry and the exploitation that happens within it.
@kakinator23652 жыл бұрын
It would also be interesting to know if the halal meat industry is truly halal, in how they treat the animals.
@thepathofguidance56842 жыл бұрын
It's very dubiously halal. Go back to small farms and local meat.
@moerocco7752 жыл бұрын
Agreed. The problem is vegans use the genuine ills of commercial meat production as an argument against meat eating, which is fallacious.

Yep! The Prophet sAaws said, that Allah swt curses people who torture animals. He sAaws advocated a lot of times for animals, that were mistreated by their owners. So factory farming can't possibly be an option for a Muslim!

If I'm not mistaken there is enough food currently in production to feed close to 9 billion, but in developed countries more than 30% of that food is being thrown away. And these places go to great lengths not to just give it to the poor or hungry. It also means that if planned well, the world can still comfortably handle an increase in population when it comes to feeding them.

In Islam, you are only allowed to eat certain animals. You aren't allowed to factory farm, because this would be torture. Because the Prophet Muhammad sAaws said, that Allah swt curses such people, who torture animals. He sAaws also told us to sharpen the knife, if we slaughter an animal, so that it doesn't suffer much. The Prophet sAaws also lectured a man, who treated his camel badly, gave him the spurs and refused to feed it properly. The man should treat it good, or free it, period! He sAaws taught us, that the animals will testify against us on the day of judgement and also take their rights from us, if we mistreat them. A woman will even go to hell on judgment day, because she tortured and starved a cat to death. While another woman will even go to paradise, because she gave a thirsty dog something to drink. The last woman was even a prostitute, and Allah swt forgave her all her sis , she committed before, because of this good deed!

The term "life is suffering doesn't" mean "life is only suffering" It means "suffering is a part of life" So wanting to preserve life isn't "wanting to preserve suffering" That doesn't logically follow. But ending existing life (in the meat industry context) is causing only suffering. Also, veganism is about reducing the harm humans cause, not reducing suffering in the animal kingdom lol
@DocRealTalk2 жыл бұрын
We have people living in council estates in deprived areas because we have an economic model that allows the people who own everything to siphon money from everyone else. Through low wages and high profits, by buying politicians who make policies to invest public money into their projects, tax avoidance scheme that they paid to get written into law etc So everyone needs to stop praying for a better world after death and do something about to make it better while we're still alive. And this is not just a "western" issue, some of the richest people on the planet are Muslim. It's not possible to have billionaires and not have poverty. The only reason anyone is able to accumulate that much wealth is by taking it, siphoning it in the ways I mentioned, and then simply investing in things that only benefit themselves. Not to mention they can borrow against their net worth at very low or no interest which has the double benefit of not being taxed as income....because it's borrowed money lol

Isn't neutral experience worse than net positive. Don't Muslims believe in eternal afterlife and bringing into this world is the only way to get to potential eternal bliss? Rather mostly good experiences with some bad compared to no experience at all. Not to mention according to Islam doesn't the soul experience and exist prior to bodily insertion. It exists with the other souls I'm the first heaven? The argument then moves back to why did God create knowing some would suffer. Back to the evil God challenge I guess.
@Umme-452 жыл бұрын
God created us before but sent us to the world to test which one of us is better in good deeds. Suffering is not the prerequisite for this test but a side effect.
