The thing is with British farming! How may British farmers go to work on British built tractors????….come on all you green guys??….answer the question?……. How can you ask the British public to support British agriculture if British agriculture will not support British manufacturing?……….is it not the circle of life……( sorry!, just got into some lion king thing!)…..

The Brazilian people are not chopping down rain forest to raise cattle. They are chopping down forests because: A. they make money from the wood B. The land is then sown with cash crops such as soya C. Those cash crops are then processed to provide raw ingredients for food production. D. Anything left that can't be sold for human food but can be sold for animal food is sold for animal food. E. Anything left after that is either burnt for power and/or composited to put back on the fields that were once rainforest. F. Overtime ever more artificial & natural fertilizers and Chemical Weapons such as creature, plant, insect, mold killers are needed to grow crops as is increasingly additional water. G. All of which in times of heavy rain are washed with the soil off the fields into the rivers killing of water bourne creatures such as fish with algal blooms. And blocking rivers with silt. H. Eventually Overtime the rich carbon & life filled soil is incapable of growing high priced food stocks and is replaced with lower priced food that can be fed to either humans or animals such as sorghum. I. This continues till its uneconomic/uncommercial to continue. It is at around this point Arable farmers go back to step A and clear more Rainforest. J. However before the soil is denuded of all carbon & life, when the soil/dirt can sustain nothing else. The farmer then grows at first high quality grass that can be stored. But then when it becomes incapable of that the fields are filled with grass to grow cattle etc. K. However, most farmers are incapable of managing cattle stocks properly so that the grass is both over & under grazed, until the soil is utterly denuded of life & carbon and becomes dirt and grass cannot grow. It is then abandoned to scrubland and may become desertified. I just hope You Tube will not delete this reply!

B c d These cash crops, ironically, the palm and soy is supposedly grown primarily for human consumption but the profits made from selling these crops 70% of the profit comes from selling the "waste" to animal feed. So who is it really grown for

Those 2 documents on environmental impact are pretty hilarious mate. Did you read that study that you claim says 'they're actually beneficial'. Even in the abstract you flashed up it says 'Mitigation strategies vary by category of environmental impact, but largely suggest improved productivity to reduce land conversion, modified management systems (e.g., biodiversity, water use and consumption, farm and pastures, grain and other feed, and waste), and the reduction of livestock numbers altogether.' and if you read the pdf itself it's an entire document about mitigating the problems that occur with animal agriculture. Dunno mate, if that's the best to go up against the FAO and environmental bodies quite clearly stating some of the problems with animal agriculture and the need to cut back then it's a pretty weak argument. Pretty dubious to say the science and the research doesn't show an obvious winner when governments around the world are attempting to reduce herd size as part of their net zero strategy. And we also know how much land and water animal agriculture uses, especially cattle. The benefits that cattle bring like better soil can be achieved in other ways without these negative impacts by better land management, crop rotation and lower herd numbers.

The evidence from around the world is that Big Ag whether through Arable or Animal Husbandry are destroying the soil. The solution is to work with Nature to help it heal its soil. Nature is a closed loop that requires the death of everything that is living including you & me to create new life. Just as all life grows through the killing of other life, so in its turn it succumbs to predation. All our waste be hait, skin, urine & faeces provides life to plants and thence to us or via animals. The whole vegan movement is based on judeo-christian & muslim theocracy. Such as animals are beings yet plants are things. They are no different than machines. When the reality is the difference between animals & plants are slight.

To be fair you gotta look at who is publishing and what there sources are being used, I eat meat but the vegan arguments is rock solid. And it has been proven time and time again that UK farming isn't the peaceful process we claim it to be. %90 UK livestock is super intense. Vegans do support UK farmers just not the animal side of things.

"farmers up and down the country treat their live stock in virtually the same way as they treat their kids". Never knew you had farmers in Britain sending their own children to the abattoir... hmmm how you gunna get out of this one sonday?
