VERY POOR CUSTOMER SUPPORT In May 2023 many Vegas users (me included) suddenly found it was impossible to open the program unless you disconnected from the internet! We only discovered the cause by googling the problem, Vegas never contacted us to advise on the cause. Vegas also did nothing to acknowledge the problem beyond responding to inquiries on their forum. Eventually a patch was released but they did not advise any of us it was available. Hitting the 'updated software' link did nothing. Again, users had to search through forum posts to eventually discover the patch. Extremely poor customer support. VEGAS PRO 20 CRASHING CONTINUES I refused to 'upgrade' to the 20 version as reports continue of it crashing for many users. I believe if Vegas can't fix it from 15 to 19 then it will probably never come good. I highly recommend the free Da Vinci Resolve which is far better in most respects. 2022 LONG-TERM COMMENTS ON LATEST VEGAS PRO 19: The video was about the original 15 version, I've been monitoring each version up to 19. It's still not good news! Vegas Pro 19 has had four major updates now (build 643) and the same crashing occurs regularly. Generally it just crashes on average every 30 minutes like previous version (editing in 4k? Every five minutes on average!). As per the video, not everyone encounters this, but many of us do, for no explicable reason. I have been testing previous versions and no change unfortunately. It is hard to predict the crashes. Sometimes it occurs just after opening a file, sometimes it occurs between 10 to 60 minutes later. Sometimes in completely freezes the computer and even 'control alt delete' won't work. Thankfully the video files are very rarely corrupted, but I strongly suggest you save backups regularly to be safe. The good news? Rendering files has become faster, also watching a preview while editing has improved dramatically. Unfortunately the software is now getting very expensive and I think there are much better options available for the money... or for free! Please note some users do find Vegas Pro stable, but many of us don't... even with a clean install on brand new computers with no conflicting software. I know some users have zero problems, but there's a very significant number of us who can't fix the issues, despite long conversations with the Vegas support team. Into filming and editing? Everything I learn I put into this forum thread.... advrider.com/index.php?threads/any-tips-for-better-motorbike-videos.702090/

CROSS TRAINING ENDURO SKILLS I run a video production company here in the uk... we used premiere for years but that’s an unstable pile of crap too, and the subscription costs are terrible - we’ve always used davinci resolve for colour grading but have recently switched to using it as our main editing software too and it’s been absolutely superb... rock solid and very fast even on huge feature length projects, and the free version will serve you just fine so long as you don’t need to edit 4k projects or work collaboratively over a network. Give it a shot!

I agree with the the review here. I have been using Vegas even before Sony took it over. It stayed pretty stable throughout the Sony years, but when MAGIX took over and pushed out the features, they also lost the stability. It is sad even with paying for the latest version 17 the results of having software that locks up several times a session is NOT what I was paying for. Why if it wasn't for the program saving itself in the background I would have moved on to something else by now. Restarting the program and hoping you can remember what you may have done in editing and going back checking everything once you performed a recover from crash feature? It gets very frustrating and I'm getting tired of dealing with it. Bells and whistles are one thing, but stability wins out over all of that crap.

I was surprised by this video. I used 12 for the longest time and 15 for about a year. I have had 15 only crash once in that time. Obviously there is some difference between either OS, video file types, bitrate, something that causes such instability for you. Just my experience though, I have been quite happy with the $20 or so I spent on it via humble bundle.

It certainly works well for some Dave, but unfortunately many like me have new PCs, updated drivers, no conflicting software, and then have it crashing every few minutes. I should add that turning off GPU acceleration means it will only crash every 20 minutes or so, but of course this is a feature I wanted. 😥 Sony Vegas 13 was quite stable and if you check on the forums many users revert to this despite it being very slow in rendering.

Blender is free, libre, open source 3D and video editing software that has been around for around 20 years, is partially sponsored by the Netherlands, and is really fun to use if you are a very technical person. It will always be free. It has some cool advanced stuff too like motion tracking. The video editor in the program isn't the best, but then again, you don't have to pay anything. I'm a video editor in LA who has spent most of my life in front of a computer screen. I've been editing video since Sony Vegas 4 came out. I remember always being amazed at how stable Vegas was. I used to leave long three hour chunks of video rendering overnight with tons of effects on cheap Celeron computers and it always worked perfectly. I remember Vegas 8 and 10 working fine. I still use Vegas 12 on some of my computers because Magix only gives you two activations of Vegas. Anyway, I never think I ever crashed in Vegas till I started using Vegas 14. Really irritating. I upgraded to Vegas 16 and wanted to tear my teeth out. It was crashing all the time and getting me in trouble with clients. What I finally did was contact Vegas and they let me delete my two Vegas 16 activations for two more Vegas 14 activations. I'm going to try finding my old Sony Vegas installation programs and see if they work. I think I'm going to wait till Vegas 20 comes out before I ever buy another Vegas upgrade.

Hitfilm Express is slow. Davinci Resolve free edition is pretty stable but you gotta have a dedicated GPU installed. I used Vegas for years and experienced exactly the same issues. Often I'd try rendering a big project that would take hours, and then a percentage of the way through it would crash and I'd have to try again. It would crash again, and I'd have to try again. It's too bad. I think the workflow is the easiest and fastest. But I think it's still built on the codebase of the Soundforge audio software it was originally built on top of. I think it would be massively popular if they recorded the core codebase. Recently Resolve let me down, and the company, understandably, wouldn't give me tech support for the free version so I installed Hitfilm Express. But then it doesn't do titles so I paid a bit of money to get the basic functionality. But, I find Hitfilm to be laggy. Nice software but it;s laggy and some of the workflow is tedious. I don't like it. I'm gonna try the Studio version of Davinci Resolve because it has the best workflow and is relatively stable.

it's illegal to take a motocross bike intto the forest
@crosstrainingenduro3 жыл бұрын
In most first world countries, this is usually the case unless recreational registration is available. But on private properties as per this vid? Completely legal.
@michalzurek81653 жыл бұрын
@@crosstrainingenduro how do you prove this is private property?
@crosstrainingenduro3 жыл бұрын
I have no interest in proving anything to you, Michal. If you watch our videos we often talk about the need to ride responsibly... don't annoy non-riders, keep your bikes quiet, don't cause environmental damage, do it legally. If you don't trust us, that isn't our problem. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6alhYmdqd-Vl7c

@@crosstrainingenduro what I know is that even protected areas are plagued with people on motor bikes, of course you say that everything you do is legal and responsible what else you can tell, anyway I see you are devastating some forest, doesn't matter if private property, do you really must bring these machines to the forests, cannot you ride on the tracks?

it does seem to be stable for some users which is great news.... in which case it will be great software for that price.

All desktop apps are bullshit. I prefer Powerdirector app for mobile phone. It is much more easy and fast for editing. Sure not very professional vids but you can do %90 of all editing tools by your mobile phone. Rest %10 is for pro editors like you :))

i wish i was a pro lol. there's still so much i don't know and i've been thinking of finding some free (or very cheap) online courses to find out more about colour correction and post production etc.

And a poor try by you. You clearly didn't read the video description or pinned first comment.
