Great first day! I've done that flight in economy.. a long, long time ago. That flight looked fantastic despite the length. Can't wait to see the rest of the trip! Sorry to hear you got sick ☹We just got back Saturday night and so far so good.. 🤞

I’ve done the flight in economy a few times, but now that I am used to the upgrade I don’t know if I could ever go back again. I’m very spoiled now ☺️ Hope you don’t get sick like I did 🤞🏻

It was definitely a good idea to rest before Vegas and Hilton has always been a great place to do that. Just not a lot to do in that area, but I suppose that forces me to rest.

In 14 visits to the USA that’s the fastest I’ve ever gotten through immigration. It is also the first time I’ve had a 12.30pm departure so maybe I missed the morning rush of multiple arrivals.

Thanks for watching! Plane food usually gets a pretty bad rap but it’s usually pretty good in Qantas business class. Another reason I’m thankful for the upgrade.

So happy to see your first holiday vlog!! That's a hell of a long flight 😳, but great to see it was business class, wheww. I love your travel day vlogs and all the details you give. That Uber price was absolutely ridiculous. Wow! I'm sure having to change rooms sucked but happy they gave you a bit of foos and beverage credit. I should've conplained when I stayed at Paris a couple weeks ago about their stinky pillows, the water being off and lack of shower soap and bath mat. Any inconvenience should be compensated in some way. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the rest of your solo trip!!

Thanks so much for watching. I tend to talk a lot and often wonder if I’m giving too much detail. But I love watching travel day vlogs myself and want to know all the details. I think if we’re paying a lot of money for a hotel and something is wrong then we should always speak up, and if inconvenienced then the hotel should compensate in some small way. It never hurts to ask.

I love seeing the Penfold's at the lounge ( though you didn't pour any 😂) - we used to sell their Shiraz when I kept (or "tended" if you prefer) bar and it was our only true Australian Shiraz. Don't know if it exported because Aussies hate it or if it's a national treasure, I just know I like it 😅

Oh Penfolds is a bit of a national treasure for us, especially the Grange. Too early in the morning for red wine plus it doesn’t go to well with eggs 😂

Oh I totally agree, adults don’t need to be climbing over a bath tub to take a shower. Especially as we get older too… that gets risky lol

Just curious what you think about the tipping culture in USA and what services do you tip and what percentage

Coming from a country where we don’t tip it was hard to get used to tipping when I first went to USA. But now I factor the cost into my trip budget. I tip at sit down restaurants (usually always 20% unless the service wasn’t great), $5 a day tip for housekeeping, $1-$2 a drink for cocktail waitresses and bartenders, and 15% for Uber and Taxi drivers or 20% if they help with luggage.
