What makes me love Vegeta man is his progression in the manga as well, he wanted to make up for what he did to the namekians as well. He's been meditating too, learning from Jirens meditation unfortunately while Goku regressed as a character

Than That's not what he he's saying.... Vegeta is saying that he's amazed at Goku's tenacity, his genuine fighting spirit....even though he isn't ruthless and cold hearted, like Vegeta used to be back when he was younger and to some extent now...Vegeta is Angry and brutal, ready to kill anyone at a moments notice, whereas Goku is merciful and only fights to better himself....Vegeta is admitting that Goku is a better person/Protector of Earth 🌎 than he is.

The first DB had a character development for Goku. He constsntly changed and reacted to the plot across the arcs. And DBZ had it for Vegeta. Same thing happened across the sagas if you think about it. Just think about Vegeta attitude in each arc, he constantly changed and evolved. Sad that character development is one of the most underrated things about DBZ.
