If I may ask, how did you do it exactly? Did you make the same amount or scale it down? I'd really like to make this as my husband is on a vegan kick and this looks delicious, but without a recipe or any guidelines for the amounts, I'm not sure how it would turn out- lol. I mean, I'm an expert cook and can usually duplicate by sight but due to camera angles, cuts, large amounts, different bowl sizes and such, it seems impossible to guesstimate the ingredient measurements/ratios. So, I'm curious as to what you did to make this?

To all About the grandpa A. He is teaching you the recipe free of cost. it may not be authentic by western standards but very indiansed version. B.we people used to chillies from age of two. And what you see red hot are not pungent at all...just a colour. Hygiene and all ...all stupid. Learn the recipe and do it own your way. Eaating with hand is best... As nobody is born with a spoon. The food prepared in open with the sunshine and wood fire is tastier than in hi-tech kitchen. The people eating this food are poor and getting food..just food. How many of you can understand getting new and tastey food is a Bonanza to 99.5 % Indians.

@SaxyDan54 I'm 1st generation Indian American so my taste buds are accustomed to both Western and South Asian food, and believe me I can't eat Indian food if it isn't even the least bit spicy... it's just a part of the culture and the food. I have a niece and nephew who are half Indian and half Irish at the age of 7 and 10 and even they have to have their Indian food at grandma's to be spicy or it just tastes bland. A lot of Indian food has emphasis on reddish tones of coloring too so it's not always as spicy as it looks. 😊
