Honestly Vassago is kinda like Vox for me in how we don’t have much of his interactions as of now but from the bit we have seen from him I can already tell he’s gonna be a fun character at the least and one of my favorites at the best. Considering the sheep character was sitting in the same seats as the other established sins, it's gotta be Belphegor, the prince of sloth (Bee name dropped her once in the belated finally of season 1). Also, I've heard that apparently Viv went on record and said Satan is actually full of shit about being in hell before Lucifer, and that Lucifer was there first, and the reason Bee and Ozzy don't take Satan seriously is because they know he's full of shit.

The fact that Satan is lying is like directly from the entire Hell lore. Also, i assume, Belphegor is a female. At least for the balance between 6 sins (except for Lucifer) of male and female characters. On the court entrance door, there are images of all of the 7 deadly sins and it seems like the males are on the left and females are on the right.

@Millstone1985 Yeah, I think the idea is that the sins tend to have multiple titles; within the ranks of beings sins, their official title is "prince" but Ozzy for example is also a king within the hierarchy of the Goetias, and Bee seems to be the queen of the hellhounds (plus there's the obvious case of Lucifer who's both prince of pride and king of all hell).

Would he sympathize with a hellborn creature killing humans who werent even yet sentenced to hell though? If there's hope for humans, its before they die and go to hell, and he despises everyone who ended up in hell (except now the hotel crew, maybe), so I.M.P. business model is somewhat spitting on whatever hope is left, on behalf of those who already deservingly went to hell, and couldnt even come up with better things to do than to hire a killer for those who are still alive. Lucifer might have not looked too well on them from the beginning, and Stolas confession would only make things worse.

Honestly, I doubt things would have changed much at all. The news article at the end saying that I.M.P are the first to EVER survive a death sentence; which says to me that Lucifer when he was attending never went against these type of sentences. I honestly think Lucifer would be totally on the vote to execute to get to lunch as soon as possible crowd. I say this also being a fan of Luci but I really doubt he would of done much different.

I have to wonder if removing Stolas from his position drained him of most of his vitality. After Satan siphoned away his position, you could see a bunch of red lightning or energy flooding out from Stolas’ eyes, and ever since that moment, he’s way more sluggish. He didn’t try to dodge any of the crap the imps were throwing at him. I don’t think it was even a matter of NOT having enough time to react-as he did dodge several of Striker’s holy weapon bullets back in S2E4, and he hardly had any warning then. But here, the same guy couldn’t dodge a couple buckets of water??! No, Stolas lost most or ALL of his power. It’s like at the beginning of Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, when Link loses all but 3 of his heart containers from health bar; Stolas just went from Lvl70 to Lvl1, and now anyone after his head won’t need to bind him with blessed/Carmine’s weapons to weaken him first, he’s a sitting duck. He’s like the Lvl1 party member in an rpg who can’t defend themself, whom you have to protect during an escort mission. And from the S2 trailer, it looked like Andrealphus was going to try and finish killing an exhausted Stolas in Blitzø’s arms, probably so there’s no 100yr turnaround rule for his power strip.

I’ve noticed a few reactors saying something along the lines of Stolas could have told the truth to get Blitzo off the charges, but that isn’t the case. No matter what, their arrangement with the Grimoire was against Demon Law and had he said it was a mutual arrangement, both would have received their respective punishments. The only way to save Blitzo’s life was for Stolas to take the fall completely.

I can't help but think that there were hints of Satan, the sin of wrath (anger), being kept in line by Lucifer against his will. For one, Satan claimed to have ruled long before Lucifer fell yet Lucifer's throne is above all others including Satan's. So, it makes sense that there is a power struggle. Second, the sin of wrath does not traditionally refer to punishment but rather needless anger, rage, and violence. Lucifer couldn't have a huge super powerful guy like that running around destroying everything all the time. So, that little calming therapist demon is probably tasked to keep Satan calm and knowing that he would have to face Lucifer if he killed the therapist demon is what keeps this therapist alive. Although, he has probably gone through many. I also was glad that they didn't make the Sin of Wrath a fair judge who enforces real justice. He is the sin of anger and violence not justice. As long as anger and violence has someone to blame and destroy they are happy. It doesn't need to be someone who deserves it.

This was definitely one of the most plot heavy episodes to date and it was awesome. Satan's design imo, like Mammon's, is very metal🤘and one of my favorite designs. Kind of a cross between a goat and a dragon. The fact that he had someone to help him ease his temper was hilarious. I'm really worried for Octavia now and I really hope that she eventually figures out what her mother's true intentions are and can reunite with her father. I was pretty confident that they weren't going to kill off Blitz or Stolas, but it still didn't diminish the sheer emotional weight and tension of the whole scene. At the very least, they are back together again. Also loved to see all the sins, minus Lucifer together in same room and once again, that lovely, demented, Australian Christmas tree made me lol, especially when he was sparring with Bee. Overall, another great episode of HUVAB.

12:05 I just gotta point out this little detail I just learned about here: Stolas has a faint scar on his shoulder from when Striker stabbed him! You can barely see it in between the top of his shoulder and the adjacent end of the arm line. (It's more noticeable at 21:20 since he's naked)

That 100 years could still end up being a death sentence since Stella still wants him dead and certainly her brother isn't going to want to return his newfound titles and power. They'll also do their best to turn Octavia against him in order to hurt him even more.

I don't think Octavia necessarily hates her mother -- from all indications she definitely received more love and affection from her father than her mother growing up and it seems she has a much closer relationship with Stolas, but from her perspective Stolas has been continually torching his family life and hurting her since meeting Blitz -- the fights with Stella, bringing Blitz to Loo loo Land, the stress over the divorce getting in the way of their promised time together, and now this, her father nearly getting executed and utterly blowing up his ability to spend time with or have custody of her, again because of Blitz. She probably will take this as another sign that she is not first in her father's heart and will feel hurt and angry about it. and it's a hard thing -- stolas truly *didn't* have anyone he loved except for his daughter for a long, long, time, and even if Octavia's life was filled with more love and care than Stolas' was as a child, as a Goetia heir she is probably incredibly isolated and lonely herself. To feel like you're losing one of, or the only person in your life that you care for and who cares for you.... it's not easy.

I think the best part is now the rest of the sins (Belphegor, Leviathan, and Satan) were revealed. I'm not surprised Lucifer was absent, but I like how Satan describes him as the "Golden Upstart" implying he was there before Lucifer and yet has to share the power (at least I think that's what he's implying). Also Satan's VA is the actor who played Hades in the Broadway musical, Hadestown.

Theory time…Satan, who I will call Wrath for simplicities sake, is angry and has his aid to calm him down not because he’s wrathful, but because he is the only one that hates what he’s become and doesn’t want to be in Hell. Bee, aka Beelzebub the lord of flies, is a fat guy at a buffet in hell, Mammon is a selfish greed prick, Oz is complete hedonistic freak, Pride is too egotistical to accept responsibility or humility, Envy is spiteful jealous rat, and Sloth/Belphagor is too lazy to do anything, much less think. But Wrath… He’s doesn’t come off as a rebellious individual given his authoritarianly strict ways of ruling. He is probably the only sin Lucifer genuinely needed to convince and manipulate to join the rebellion. He most likely was a general; no… a Marshal in Heaven who earned and fought his way to the the top. However, when the War in Heaven failed he realized he screwed up, and Lucifer lied and used him. But when it all calmed down he found he was eternally banned from Heaven. His home, his family his friends, his spoils of victory, his legions, everything he had worked for and built his name on was gone forever. In light of this, he become bitter and violent. Creating Imps as a attempt to rebuild his legions abs loyal followers (which clearly didn’t work). And now he’s so far convinced that he nor any fallen Angels can go home and be forgiven as well as so infuriated and obsessed with what he lost… he is now in both looks and personality is a mockery of who and what he once was.

I would say that the punishment is worse than you seem to think (even if it's milder than Andrealphus hoped and much milder than what they were about to do to Blitz). Remember there is a lot of (kind of justified) resentment against the upper classes and Stolas is now a symbol of the upper class but one without power or protection so one that is "safe" to go after (like the janitor who threw a drink at him for example) and hate. He's also more vulnerable in case Stella and Andrealphus wants to make another attempt at killing him. So he's in kind of a precarious position.

This episode really gotten to be impactful for the moment of Stolas and Blitz relationship, but it shows at the end that blitz confess his feelings for Stolas without Stolas noticing it. Also can we take a moment to appreciate the rulers of Sloth, Envy, and Wrath making a surprising appearance in this episode. 🫨 as the fans are got some ideas to brew up and draw out their favorite ruler out there.

I told Veggie about this dropping today a few days ago. The reason no teasers for this episode until Wednesday was because animation for the "Mastermind" song was still being worked on until Wednesday. There was a strong possibility it was going to be pushed to Saturday. And the planned air date for Sinsmas is Dec 27 but that isn't set in stone.

@@gothic_ace2037 I was wondering while I watched if Stolas was acting the way he did because he was only able to operate on an assumption of what Blitz was being accused of - knowing it had to be about the grimoire only because he already knew that the way he was using it was illegal. After all, they only started broadcasting the trial *after* Blitz was sentenced to death, and Stolas left right away in a confusion over what was going on and why. I don't think he addressed the assassination because he literally didn't know it was part of the trial - and he didn't have the context that he was previously being painted as a poor victim either, which may have changed his approach

Even if Stolas revealed Striker, Stella and Andrealphus were behind the plot against his life, had he known, it wouldn't have mattered. The trial was about the grimoire's illegal use.
