I got these from Top Cubans and I smoked my first one while watching you review. You were right about their density. Little hard to draw but great flavor and a solid smoke.

I definitely like vegeuros. When fresh they're definitely a little simple, and the balance is a little off. but after a few years they really develop some great flavors. Great aging potential on them as well.

Hello Joe: As a life long ANGLO resident of Coral Gables (I’m literally the last one left on my street after 45 years as CG is where the now, capitalist and wealthy Cuban exiles live 😂 in Miami) I’ve always enjoyed watching your show- primarily because you are knowledgeable- but have great audacity and zero fucks given when you butcher the pronunciation of almost every word in these reviews-😂😂😂😂 I learned Spanish early on out of necessity and one of the ancillary benefits of this was helping me become rapidly ingratiated and welcomed into the world of Havana’s in the early 1990s before the insanity. I’ve been collecting ever since. As for Vegueros- Update: I have both the Entrs. and Taps in my humidor right now bearing OCT 17 codes- the wrappers and the fills are ASTONISHING. All have Colorado Claro legitimate EMS grade “corojo” color profiles that Dan Rodriguez would approve of himself, because I know what he would approve of 😉 These cigars are without question the “sleepers” out of Cuba besides QDS and have become a much more reliable and consistent cigar to (dare I say) totally replace the PLPC. The last Cabinet I got was a fucking shit show- the wrappers on this last lot sadly beat out the quality of the box of HDM EDs that I received and also gave a run for the money on some H. Upmann Con As. Hard to believe. These have been one of the great “imagine that” moments of the last 20 years of smoking. Next time you are in Miami drop a line and we can have some Cafecito at Versailles- and the locals will give you free pronunciation videos. Keep making fun content. It shows and it’s contagious. Regards, “Marcel”

Joe, you are interesting, humorous, and helpful. Can you do a show about how you reel off the flavors of a cigar, such as how you can taste a cigar being nutty, earthy, sweet, grassy, etc? I cannot do this. However, Carlos Fuentes and many others never use terms like grassy, nutty or anything so specific. Thus, are these specific flavors embellished or is there a way to detect them?

Sounds like Cubans have more rollers than high quality tobacco. They've clearly put a lot of effort into these, they look great but it's cheap tobacco, Vagueros is just nasty. maybe that explains why the REs have been so incredibly slow in 2014, they just don't have enough good quality tobacco, especially for the Ramons. Good review, though you were probably a little too kind to them.

Good cigar, poor review. 17:30 to light the cigar for a cigar review. What's with that?
