my milwaukee has 3 settings actually, small screws are first setting, 10mm is the medium, 12 and larger is the high setting. The high setting torques really good to be a small impact electric gun. The big 1/2" I don't really use to torque, I feel like that beast will destroy any bolt in a second lol

Is that the ghost of Mr. Spotty at 13:21? I worked in a factory that built new cars. Outside of the engine, 90% of all fasteners were just run in with a Makita cordless impact. There were torque spec drawings showing specs for every nut and bolt on the car. I never saw anyone checking them. Ever. But if there was ever a lawsuit, they could show that an engineer had specified some torque for anything in question...

Over here in the "old world" our customers (the car manufacturer) wouldn't be satisfied with this. According to ISO9001:2015 you don't just specify your quality marks, you actually record them. Every, single, one. We still use quite a lot of wired screwing systems, they are most reliable. Cordless have WiFi to transmit the values. If you ever wonder why the manufactueres use so many different screw heads and you have to constantly change the tools: This is to prevent the workers from using the wrong screwdriver and it's slighly different torque specs and program.

People (KZbin experts than never opened a hood in their lives) still believe that the manufacturers do everything perfectly and it could not possibly be replicated unless built on an assembly line with precision tools and an engineering degree! 😂 I actually found an extra nut in the fender because they dropped one while putting the wires on the distribution block. 🤦🏼‍♂️

@@vehcor Similar story for the paint. You wouldn't believe how many cars are repainted by hand right in the factory because of defects from the robotic painting process. And typically things like bumper covers, fenders, hoods, even some doors and trunk lids are painted separate from the body, and often really don't match that well. Even worse are things like spoilers or other trim parts that are painted by an outside suppliers and bolted on in the factory.

Your so right about checking prices, I rebuilt the front end on a Mercedes station wagon here in the UK and couldn't believe how cheap the OEM parts were... Apparently it was because these cars are used as Taxis in Europe and they need to keep them on the road... So always check out prices with the manufacturer, you never know..

You said you didn't know what that bracket at the front of the fender did. It gives them the ability to not put that bolt at the bottom of the fender by the door.

I want to see the pile on one of these builds. Maybe the bottom fender bolt was upgraded to sticky stuff. I remember working as a Ford technician in 97 and got a crown vic straight of the trailer with 2 radiator shrouds installed and another that came missing a rear axle upper link bolt missing. Those were the days, probably built on a Friday or monday.

Love your videos. It does seem that about 75% of your time is some combination of disengaging/engaging clips and turning bolts. I wish I could say I spend that little amount of time on those dang clips - they are the bane of my existence!

Regarding the fenders. Most car manufacturers started selling their fenders cheaper to combat the cheap knock-off fenders and from what I hear they actually sell them below the market knock-off prices and make up for it on small sheet metal pieces that the knock-off makers don't bother making.

What does an average day look like for you? Like what is your schedule? Up by 5 to the gym by 5:30 workout until 7 then home, breakfast, shower and to the shop by 8 then work there unto 5, the supper and to your own shop by 6 and home at 10 to then edit video for a couple hours and bed by midnight?

Use a heat gun to soften any type of urethane/silicone adhesive bond It will make your life easier In aviation maintenance trying to remove an acrylic window without heat means a 100% breakage

Well I think we always knew the old denali days were numbered... because sooner or later you would find something else or someone was going to make you an offer you couldn't reuse and away it was going to go. Your bang on about researching parts from all the sources because what you would think would be the cheapest might not necessarily be the case as you fond out and I am sure other have, shop around and never assume because you will be surprised just what it will save you if you take the extra time to do so.... ugh fender liners.... the bane of my existence,always have hated them still hate them...lol.. looks like your off to a pretty good start with this could be over pretty quick it didn't even look that bad on the trailer which kind of had me wondering why they didnt fix it instead of totalling it... but Insurance companies go by what the adjuert tells them... but hey always good for guys like us...
