In this video former Navy SEAL Jason Pike goes over his vehicle gear setup as it pertains to vehicle defense while traveling. He covers two securing options for a rifle/pistol, and discusses armor, battle belt, and medical bag considerations, as well as shows how quickly his setup can be deployed in case of emergency.

This is the best stuff I have seen on YT in a while with regard to guns/gear/preparedness. Your sage wisdom and humble, servant heart shows, however I am sure you could employ your skills when the time came, so to speak. Thanks for the bit about med kits. Lots of folks would do good to get formal training, rather than just buy the most expensive IFAK and let it sit. Excited for more content!

This is a really good video keep helping people learn. I have a similar set up in my trunk as you. The only difference is my armor, belt & Sig 716G2 DMR are very discreetly & securely locked away. When I'm out of my car I have my primary & backup handguns with my EDC bag that has medical, odds & ends + my Sig Rattler. Normally it's a book bag but I also have a kind of satchel for when I'm dressed up.

My cousin who was in SOCOM said in early 2000s he was running a crap ton of gear outside the wire . On his last deployment he had half the stuff from his first deployment and was 10 pounds or more lighter. Very nice video Bro. People always wanna do the Gun stuff . They don't wanna do the med classes . That was me included until last year . I've been through 4 or 5 firearms classes . Not realizing medical is more important . Your highly more likely to use med training in the field or on your way from work and there's an accident I remote area .

Everywhere I have lived since leaving the military in the mid 1980’s, there have been local militia groups, in ten states, that I hooked up with, and most offered CLS (combat life saver course) for free. I do not recommend all militias, be smart, there are some decent militias that offer tons of free training. Best of luck everyone. Remember to ENJOY!

I like the analogy of a backpacker. They start with a huge 50+lb pack and over time realize they don’t need 90% of the stuff they bring. I have been a park ranger for over 12 years and now I rely on my skill set and a few select pieces of gear. I can fit it all into a small day pack for a multi day trip, or even a couple of belt pouches for a one day hike. Skills trunk gear any day. A good weapon you know very well, some ammo, and some medical supplies are good enough. Add a few freeze dried meals and a bit of water a few life straws and I’m good to go for almost anything

At the point of video where your showing the back of driver seat... When discussing the "sag" you could aliviate with velcro. Adhesive 3m strip to seat and the other to the pouch. Keep it Simple a good reminder, The setup is great BUT for a trip around town and going into and out of stores or even a long trip you may have to stop for a meal and or stay a night where you have to take in. First I think the least known is some Dodge vehicles have floor compartments, this I wish all SUV/trucks should have! For those without you have plastic formed under seat compartments or even under seat straps to mount something to. These are some hiding but easy access places also. Out of sight but always in mind!!! Putting a collapsible stock on long gun allows for putting in a backpack if going inside for a night. Hanging armor on the back of front seats and easily (heavy but adrenaline helps) flipped over for front protection also. I carried Hornet spray on a cord now bear spray on my lap as I drive and semi auto pistol grip shotgun with 2 slugs first and 3 buck shot. Hit OnStar, Disable and get gone!!!

Refreshing to hear the logic in your "active shooter" scenario. I was trained to not only be competent and confident in the deployment of my equipment but also know how to quickly asses various scenarios by roleplay...will I be an asset or a liability depending on the response? Too many "gung ho batman's" out there who probably mean well but are inadequately trained and/or reach their target heart rate going to the refrigerator.😅

If you listen to them, you will end up prepping yourself to enter a situation that you have absolutely no reality within and apart of a consequence that you better win if you are foolish enough to walk this route to begin with.

I have kids climbing in and out, kicking the seat, stopping to pee, stopping to eat, and stopping for gas, and I don’t know how I’d manage with a rifle in the mix with blankets, pillows, and charging cables. I run a chest rig with 6 total and 1 in my platform. As well as my carry. Will I need it? Probably not but if I do, I’ll have it. As far as the handgun, the question is can you truthfully hit a target under stress over and over at 25 yards? If not I’d consider getting more training and definitely increasing your rifle round count and not worry about a secondary unless your rifle is out of the fight mechanically. Have a great day and God bless.

Not knocking being prepared, but some of these setups crack me up. I’m a Marine vet so don’t get me wrong I carry gear too, but for scenarios that are more likely to happen. You got to think about your mission which in most cases is to go to the store to pick up milk 🥛 and then you got to think about the potential threats. What’s more likely to happen, you stumbling upon an active shooter and you run in and stop the guy before cops arrive on the scene and you are able to show it’s not you and avoid getting lit up….. Or some jerkoff peering inside your vehicle for stuff to steal. Windows are easy to break and having racks, molle, and any stickers advertises that you may have valuable 💩 inside like party 🎉 favors. I suggest keeping some laundry or spare work uniforms tossed haphazardly over your things so people don’t see an expensive looking bag 💼 and may not want to sift through what may be or may not be clean underwear 🩲. Plus you always have extra clothes if you need to hit the gym last minute or change in a pinch. Keep tools to make quick repairs, keep some medical, keep roadside gear, keep some cold weather gear, and keep something to defend yourself. And toilet paper and a shovel IS TRUE emergency preparedness. Don’t over complicate it and don’t pretend to be something your not. Gear is helpful, too much is a hinderance and no amount of gear or setup will make up for a tiny 🌭. Have a great day 😉

💯. As I stated in the video that a bug out prob won’t be how it goes down. There’s so much to consider it’s unreal as you know. What stage are we in? Etc…

FYI with the company you recommended, I went to have a look cause I was excited, and was disappointed to see that every single item they sell, except 1 or 2 maybe, is of course “out of stock” 🤦‍♂️ Any other similar companies you can recommend?

Just one question, when you park your vehicle somewhere in public, do you not have anxiety about someone breaking into your car and stealing your stuff? Also, if you ever happen to be in an active shooter situation how do you prevent being mistaken for an attacker by responding police officers, especially being kitted out? I also am not familiar with the legalities of responding to that situation as a civilian, I know that in antiterrorism briefs they always tell us not to try and help the responders and leave the area, unless we have no choice but to fight.
