In this video, I discuss the first part of my VEDC, or Vehicle EDC, which is the trunk of my car. In it I keep several things for emergencies such as first aid, a blanket, boots, car jumper, and more. Let me know down in the comments what you think and what you carry in yours!

Good car/truck edc equipment. I carry very similar items in my truck. Looking forward to watching what’s in the get home bag. Thanks for sharing

Here's a suggestion as an alternative to regular boots: NEOS (New England OverShoe) sells good overshoes that you can wear over normal shoes (they probably won't work well over sandals and flip-flops). They are a good modern version of an overshoe, not the old-fashioned rubber things. I've owned a pair for years. They are rather large in order to fit over shoes, but the uppers are fabric, so they can be folded to take up less space.

Starting in the 80's, vehicles have screens preventing siphoning of gas. It is possible to drain the gas by getting into the tank depending on the vehicle, by removing the backseat and accessing the tank from above, for example.

Sirena Spades I was going to mention this and ran across your comment. Another good way to get fuel from a vehicle is to punch a hole in the bottom of the fuel tank and collect it from under the vehicle.

Liked and Sub. Good items, similar setup that’s rotated per seasonal requirements. Light sticks and hand warmers don’t survive our summers (replace each year) I always assume stuff will happen and only what I have on me will be available. Now that we have constitutional carry I Recommend 12ga M590-A1 with bayonet and rifle should be stored in a secure “Automobile Safe” Pro -Tip: replace ammo after each summer = Oklahoma roads SUCK, that and the heat plays havoc with quality😉 A good tool kit and spare parts (ECM inside EMP case)

Great video O. P. I got a lot of great ideas from watching your video. I'm planning to go on a long trip with my truck and I want to get everything ready. I seem to have most of these items in my house already I just have to put everything together. I do have to pick up some MREs and cook kit. Also a tarp I think would be a good idea to have along with some long pins to drive in the ground in case it's raining and you need to work on a tire. Other than that great job & good luck.

Always prep for the trip or seasonal changes. I forgot a case of body warmers one summer they were useless next winter. Waste not = they became thermite for my safes “Biden Box”😉

Might want to put the quick clot at the top of the box. If you're hurt that bad, you might not have time to dig to the bottom of the box.

Before getting a full size trauma kit, you might just get a swat T. They're cheap and super portable.

Good Idea! I've thought of having one in my EDC carry on me, but the trunk would be great too. I have a RATS tourniquet in my get home bag, but another dedicated one would be a good addition.

I am curious what your job was in the Navy? I enjoy your videos, very thorough. You have given me many ideas to improve on my projects. thank you

+Mr. Magoo So that question has 2 answers: what I did "on paper" and what I actually did. Long story short, when I joined the Navy I came in without an official job (called your rate), so I was undesignated. This allowed me to later choose my own rate, but I had to work a rate I hated before hand. So when I got to my ship (USS Enterprise), I was assigned to work in the V-2 Division, which was the arresting gear and catapults, aka how they launched and recovered aircraft. I was sent to the arresting gear, to work on the massive engines that caught planes using the Arresting gear engines. After about 3 months of this, I was sent TAD (temporary assigned duty) to the security division working with the Master at Arms (Navy police). At this same time I took the test for and became an AO, or aviation ordnanceman. I didn't really have a reason for choosing that rate, I just wanted out of V-2 ASAP. Each security TAD assignment is normally 12 months, and then after that someone else from your division is sent to replace you. Well 11 months into being TAD, we get told we are staying in security until either you get out of active duty, or get orders to another command. This was because our ship was decommissioning and they needed people to stay and shut it all down. So I ended up being stuck in Security for about 3 1/2 of my 4 years active duty in security. I went to all of their advanced training and got all of their qualifications a non-master at arms could get. Even though I was an AO, I never actually did (or learned really) and Avaition ordnance stuff. Sorry for the long winded answer, but It helps explain having 2 separate job titles. Hope that helps! And you're welcome for the ideas, keep watching for more videos!

"Organization", what organization? First you had food stuffs in with bug spray, not a real good idea! You other gear is spread around in different containers, if I may suggest trying to put like this together......just a thought! Good luck...

This is why I don't like preppers.. you live in a fairly well populated city surrounded by many other fairly well populated cities. You need some washerfluid, snow brush, small tool kit, MAYBE the tire inflator but without other patch tools you're fighting a losing battle, the battery charger is needed in colder climates but usually only if you have an older vehicle. My car kit is held in a Plano fishing backpack bungeed to the side of my trunk and the only reason i have something that big is because i keep my car blanket in it as well and I drive an suv. Your car loses all utility when you fill your trunk up like that. You could fit a backpack or maybe two grocery bags in there. Solid 0.5/10 trim the fat and keep what you need in an emergency. Get yourself triple a or a security plan through the car dealership.
