Saw video on KZbin...the guy says that this doesn't work to well in fog...he actually shows video of it..he says other than that flaw it works perfectly.

That makes sense considering fog is water vapor and thermal imaging cannot see through water. I would have to guess that it would at least be better than eyesight as far as distance.

Can it be displayed on a head unit? I wonder if u could plug it to the head units camera inlet to get the view on it

Have you tried to install it on the roof using a magnet? Will it help a field of view?

As long as it is an extremely strong magnet then it should work great on the roof. Field of view would be slightly improved. Check out my video on the Thermal Master design, it mounts on the roof.
