@@uniqueclassiccars My fault as I had adjusted color to make a car the camera captured incorrectly as green to appear blue, as it was blue. Failed to notice by doing that all other colors were thrown off. Different cameras I use all seem to struggle with display lighter blue and lighter green colors. Live, learn, and improve.

@@MokieDokie1hiya Mokie... The point is that the average person has been "priced out" of the hobby... In fact, it probably shouldn't be called a "hobby" anymore. Believe it or not, there was once a time when even a high school kid could build an old car, even only using money that they earned from mowing lawns or delivering newspapers... Or working after school at the Dairy Queen. Back in the Eighties, I built a Cadillac convertible, sold it and then built a Buick convertible all from the proceeds from mowing grass after school. These days, even rusted out JUNK that we wouldn't have even considered good enough as a parts car sells for $3,000 to $5,000 for something "cool". The days of this GAME being a hobby look to be long gone.

Beings that the majority of these cars are specialty collector type cars, It would be advantageous to the education of those who are new to the classic car scene and also those who are not but are still interested in knowing the actual colors these cars are painted including possible paint codes as it is a serious factor for people who are collecting or investing in a classic car to know if the vehicle is painted a factory, color or not, including a paint code for a technical aspect, would also be equally advantageous.

What you call the Mecury Monarch was in fact NOT a Mercury, and never was. It is a Ford built to compete with the Mercury. Also, it was not named after a butterfly, but what a King or Queen would be known as. In other words, a car of Roalty. And that is a good price on it as they are very rare, only being sold in Canada.
@kenglavens645511 ай бұрын
I remember them being sold in the US. There was definitely a Ford version of it in the US so if it wasn't called a Monarch, then what was it?
@georgecrawford305111 ай бұрын
@@kenglavens6455 they were called Monarchs, but they were not Mercurys. They were a Canadian car, not sold in the US. There was a Ford that looked much like them but the Ford wore a Ford badge or nameplate.
@kenglavens645511 ай бұрын
If you Google it, it states that in the US, the "Mercury"monarch was the almost identical "MERCURY" version of the Ford Granada which is just as I remember it being an American living in the automotive state of Michigan. Look it up.
@kenglavens645511 ай бұрын
Also, I believe that Canada may have had a separate Monarch line before 1975 and the American Mercury Monarch version was not marketed in Canada. That might be what is causing our confusion. Do you think that might be the case?

Not to sound like a Killjoy, but WHO is coming up with the prices on some of these cars? Honestly, some of them MIGHT BE worth the asking price, but that'd only be if they were absolutely perfect and correct. The rip roaring Early 2000's really effed up the hobby for a lot of us and turned it from being a HOBBY into being Speculation and "Investment". The thing that really makes my hair stand up, is WHAT are folks that spend such big money on these cars going to do when The Powers That Be quit "allowing" us to drive and enjoy them? Are we going to have to beg Eel Onn to sell us electric motor packages to retrofit with? And something else I never thought I'd see happen, was watching the Pea Green, four door, six cylinder, strip out Nova that the nuns used to haul groceries from the supermarket to the convent, being considered "a classic" and being "worth" $10,000 to $15,000.... Absolutely mind blowing....

They're restored classic show cars. Must are frame off restorations and not just some garage built car with a 700.00 Mayco paint job. Go price the same vehicles in the same condition..you likely wont find many and the ones you do find either aren't for sale or are far below the quality of these cars. Also how the fk is it price gouging? Where did he jack up the prices due to an event that made these vehicles to be a priority for people so the owner drastically raised the price? Clearly price gouging doesn't mean what you think it means. These classic cars aren't fuel from a gas station or cases of wager being doubled in price right after a fire or natural disaster took place. The only reason you think these prices are disgusting is because you're in no place in life to be able to buy one. These cars are usually bought by the top 1% of financial earners. If you were a multi millionaire and could buy these cars and not even look at your bank account ypu wouldn't feel the same way, it's solely because you can't afford them. You couldn't restore/build these cars for what most are listed at.
