Hey man, it is what it is. That's the risk we all take when modifying our cars. Sometimes, shit happens. It may feel real bad at first, but now's the chance to come back bigger and better than ever with this build... even if it feels like we just did that. We're all still here watching and supporting. If you need it, take a break, I think we'd all understand. Everyone needs a vacation sometimes. Take one of your other cars out, take a week, find some more races to run or even go on a road trip. Do what you gotta do to be you first, because if you don't take care of you, we can all feel it through the camera lens.

@@DJ-sr9yq its his third engine and he does all of the maintenance on each one. 2500 for the motor, then another 1500 for gaskets and everything else. Could've built a motor for the same price or less. You cant use that unicorn 1100hp n54 as a catch all, because most n54s blow up at 700-750, just like all three of his did.

It's an unfortunate risk we all take when trying to be fast. I just blew a built motor a few months ago due to a stuck injector. Sorry it didn't work out for you, but it's usually a blessing in disguise. Bigger things are headed your way. Stay positive and keep moving forward.

2009 bmw 135i here , 116k miles, stock motor, stage 2.5 lpfp, Vargas stage 2.5 turbos, on 19 psi, makes 550whp on e40, very reliable and very conservative. You can’t push a stock motor more than 600whp.

overrevs and hard shifting, along with funky g forces on 650+whp is rough on the crank hub. auto cars can do 650 somewhat reliably if the trans holds up..

Love the content, bro - and your E90 is fire! I would expect someone like you to know better though - you’re asking for trouble if you’re pushing more than 600whp on a stock motor. 600whp is the sweet and safe spot on a stock N54 motor, so if you want “more power”, you need to at least upgrade rods and pistons.

I think 22psi - 27psi is the best spot for an N54. Redlining of course hurts any engine too, especially FI. When i had a VF engineering supercharged e39 540/6, i did a fat burnout hitting redline intensely, then a day later the "U" timing chain guide went. I still managed to drive the car to the shop with the chain slapping around (i know, dumb) but ultimately the engine was ok with nothing hurt internally

The stock crank hub rebuilt with the revised/sprocket “grip disk” & new OEM crank bolt torqued to yield with momentary breaks between each sequence to allow the bolts to stretch will handle the beating you give it. The mating surface between the sprocket and thecrank hub Has been given a rough finish. Just like many Bmw revisions they are quietly swept under the rug.. good lawyers on their part I guess🤷‍♂️ Torque and no lift to at high RPM is the deadly P. Diddy crank off party for the n54.. not to mention it is over a decade old.. so nothing to complain about but something to be aware of, best of luck to you on the next step, my friend🤙

Hey Cris man, I’m not the first to tell you but I feel every single bit of what you’re going through. Only difference being I don’t have as much money to blow as you.. My 335is took a shit on me beginning of the year and it still is down. The next night after a got done installing my ST kit I spun a bearing on my 16 pound base map. Logs looked perfectly clean. Now thousands and thousands and THOUSANDS of $$$$$ later my donor engine has a top end ticking noise. Huge mystery, the engine was bone stock its whole life and didn’t even have a intake when it was still in the original car. Time is not on our side either. So I figured I’d "forget" the BMW, and I did. But not for long.. I bought a B8.5 Audi S5 manual (always Audi dealership maintained) and loved it. 2 days later the engine locked up. Barely making low 400’s on a Stage 1 tune with oem cats.

Dont feel bad, my first 335i it was a auto e90 had less then a week and spun the internals of the transmission. So I found a beautiful e92 that was vandlized, and missing stuff the people stole like the DME. So i thought a match made in what ever. Car went together beautiful. note side mirrors from the e90 can be moddifed to work with the e92 but to sucks. A flushed every fluid before i did anything. At first car ran great. I planed on running a few hundred miles and changing oil again. It made it just over 200 mile spun a rod bearing. Crap okay take the engine from the e90. Swap it, cleaned intake ports, adjustesd waistgates all the way. mods, catless DP, 2nd cat delete. removed air filter from stock box, 44 inch serpentine belt( deleting power stearing AC compressor and 2 pullies), MHD. Oh my god the car came to life, traveling at 80mph and burn the the tires like nothing. 0 to 100 before my brain could see i was past 60, just hoped to 100. Well the cooling system failed causing the head gasket to fail, no compression in 5 and 6. No mixing of fuilds so i assume head gasket between 5 and 6. Still get 700+ nm of torque with no compress in 2 cylinders, miss fires like crazy if try to do a pull. I have another e92 im about to pull the engine.

There's no hate bro. That's what us n54 guys do, run a ton of hp on a stock motor and then when and if it blows you spend 2500 bucks on a new one. Unless you want to push 1000 plus hp I don't see the point financially in spending 15k plus, building an n54.

My exact thoughts on a 2jz, they handle 700 with some mods but you can run it, if it blow up you go and buy another one and put it back on, people spend 20k on a 2jz just to do 400 to 600 and that’s crazy…..

And you should change the rod bearings on all your n54’s if you running that much power, you say maintenance first but you skipping the main thing with wanting more power also gotta make it extra reliable.

I was hoping to get to your point with it :/

I have a BMW f10 and I am debating on leaving the motor bone stock or modifying it, what do you suggest?

Most people aren't sending 30 psi through a stock block lmao, I've never seen a n54 blow a crankhub, Probaably because most people build them by then. Good luck with the built engine
