Pro-Tip: If you hang around thermal vents and near the Volcano area, you basically have unlimited power, so you can start building basically wherever you want. However, do be mindful of Warpers, as the volcano area has A LOT of those guys.

@@bydlaq Subnautica 2 is just as good as, if not better than, most games. It's just that Subnautica 1 is better. Doesn't mean that 2 is bad or not worth playing just because it isn't AS good as it's previous game. Besides, we aren't talking about "other games", we are talking about the Subnautica franchise. If you liked the 1st game, you will most likely still enjoy the second one as well and be able to enjoy the new things it has to offer, even if it isn't AS good as the first.
