Yeah! I know, right?!? lol I have been listening to VoM since All things set aside was released and honestly even their little like 3 or 4 song demo before that. I also actually knew their original vocalist Adam too. My best friends older brother knew him well and they hung out in the same social circles or people. So, I was fortunate enough to get to chill with him a few times and just hang out and smoke. Being a musician myself, guitar, I always just nerded out with him about metal and music and guitar etc. Honestly although I'm obviously a bit biased about it, Adam was their best vocalist in my opinion. He sounded amazing live and obviously the production on all things set aside wasn't that great, but I think had Adam stuck around and recorded their follow up album with them and recorded his vocals with better equipment and production in a professional studio that he could've earned a reputation as being one of the best vocalists around.

@Jesse Angel it just sucks, they were going down a beautiful path of heavy progressive music, and Ibreally agreed with Brandon that heavier would have sounded so good. Only for them to want to do cleans to where the only option was for him to leave the band, it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth, I just feel Brandon was a all around better vocalist. And now I just feel like they're another band chasing popularity. I don't feel like this music is as creative as thier past music. It feels a lot more like the same beat on a loop with something mixed in here and something mixed in thier where as thier old songs would change from beginning to end.

Their music back in their first couple albums were ‘heavier’, but that was with their old singer.. this band shot up from a metalcore band i’d listen to here and there, to one of my favorites when Lukas joined and could scream and sing, and they went down a bit more of a melodic metal path... i LOVE Veil of Maya as they are right now, way more than i ever did before.. and there’s reason why they parted ways with their old screamer/frontman etc. but if you want to hear a more strictly ‘heavier’ version of VoM, then check out what the other commenters are recommending.. otherwise, just keep being yourself and loving VoM as they are right now with me! 2:10 If anyone else doesn't get a strong Volumes vibe from this, then I must be completely ignorant.

The first time I heard VoM, I was 18 and I went to the Vom/Unearth/Psychroptic/Dying Fetus concert in Little Rock, AR. They played Wounds/Crawlback when they had Brandon as their vocalist playing the "Common Man's Collapse" album, and I cried real tears listening for the first time. They still freaking blow the roof off the music industry!

Veil has some of the top masters of their craft playing their respective instruments. This is great music. I miss Brandon as much as the next. However, the band has moved forward and pressed on. I’ll support them till the end. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
