Do you have tabs for this? And what effects did you use to get that fat sound?
@DannyJ_bass3 жыл бұрын
Use google for tabs :) I use Line6 helix for the tone
@Frankthegb3 жыл бұрын
@@DannyJ_bass I’ve tried scouring Google, I can’t find anything 😔 the best I’ve been able to do is download the guitar tab and try to use your video to tab the bass under it

@@Frankthegb Oh, yeah, thats what I did also. I look at the guitar tab. I guess I play like the guitar.

127 on the heavy side. Does it feel weird having a light string on such a low F#, or does the 37" scale really help with the tension?
@DannyJ_bass3 жыл бұрын
The bass are actually tuned in drop G# and then I pitch shift down 3 steps.

@@DannyJ_bass I have mine tuned to Gdgcfa. I was advised to get a 165 for my low G as soon as I got my bass. I'm starting to doubt that it was necessary.
@DannyJ_bass3 жыл бұрын
I did try a 135' string once and already at that thickness I thought I started to loose attack in the mids/highs and gained more boomines in the low end. So I found that 127 are pretty optimal.
@blessedunrest13 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your feedback. I felt disappointed with the loss of attack ever since I switched to the 165, but I thought "who am I to question what I was recommended." This is potentially the best information I've heard all week. I will be switching my strings back to a lighter gauge this weekend. Thank you!

@@blessedunrest1 no problems! I mean I have a 37" scale bass so scale length is about maxed out (I know there are som brands with longer scales). My bass is thoroughly adjusted to drop G# and it is on the edge of not working due to string scratches and noises. So I am kind of maxed out there also. If I would tune the bass down more it wouldn't be possible to get the sound I want du to physical limitations. I would need thicker strings and would loose the mids. So I think I have found a sweetspot regarding tuning/string thickness. Good luck!

damn, whats that tuning tho?
@MrCholoPants34154 жыл бұрын
F# low string, Drop B for the other strings. That's the guitar tuning anyway, I doubt the bass is different.
