oh M.Gemi. i looked that up on Good On You for their sustainability, and they're near the bottom of the scoring at Not Good Enough. Veja is near the top on their sustainability. i do have an Esplar, and for now they're my most comfy white leather shoes ( i have from Sam Edelman and Ecco). it's so hard to balance sustainability and practicality/comfort :(

@@zilam98 agreed! It’s hard to balance and is a very personal decision. My personal take is that the most sustainable option is the one I’ll wear and won’t have to replace (either from comfort, durability, etc.) I tried to make the Esplars work for way too long when they just weren’t the right fit for me. But if they work for you and are comfortable that’s great!

Thank you for being honest! I tried on a pair and was shocked at how uncomfortable they were. 5 people, including a Nordstrom sales associate, told me not to get them for my upcoming Europe trip. Every single person said they are uncomfortable and that they only continue wearing them because they paid a lot of money for them. I don’t understand the hype and really don’t know how anyone could claim they are even remotely comfortable. There are so many other comfortable sneakers out there.

Great in-depth review! straight to the point and just plain honest with a bunch of long term proofs and comparisons to show. Almost jumped the gun in buying a pair 'cause I heard a lot of good things about the quality of materials used in their pairs along with looking so simple yet so good aesthetically. I didn't think the quality wouldn't translate to the comfort though. Good thing I stumbled upon your video. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for the rest of us! Hope your channel blows up soon!

Hi McKay, Many thanks for your honest and no worries about your “unpopular” opinion. I’m curious why you continue to wear them now and again when they are uncomfortable, but to each their own. I’ll be interested whether I will find the same from my new Veja V-10 or Campo which I have owned for 2 months now. But I don’t walk really long distances in them. All the best.

Thanks for watching! To be completely honest I tried to make them work partially out of my own stubbornness and partially because so many girls praised them. I had tried to find people with similar experiences and in the handful of tiktoks I found they got teared apart in the comments with Veja lovers saying they’re wrong, or they hadn’t broken them or being downright mean (over something as silly as shoes) so I thought I was crazy. They just didn’t work for me and that’s ok. I haven’t worn them in a very long time. I used to reach for them on occasion because they’re off white so they work better with certain outfits and it wasn’t a big deal unless I was walking long distances. But I don’t wear them anymore. How are you liking them? I’m also curious to hear your experience. And I’ve heard the Campo is much better!

Yup, the Veja Esplar its a very standard wise model in terms of comfiness, if you wana stay or mantain a different Veja model, I would recomend you the V90 it has a way more comfortable insole and the leather its noticeable softer, they also have slighly arch support integrated.

Thanks for the great review! My Veja Campo's lasted only six months before i had to bin them, which was a signficiant disappoinment, however, i did wear them a lot. I really appreciate the brands ethos and their transparency. It really would be a 10/10 if they were able to give softer materials and a bit more comfort. For a someone with arch issues and chronic knee pain, these unfortunately have been a no for me. I think theyre made so popular because they're French and celebreties have worn them. I bought the Adidas Gazelle OG today and like them so far. Are they as stylish? Maybe not. But who cares what others think. What sneakers do you recommend?

@@tinakris7893 totally relate to your experience with the Esplars including the lack of support- thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Campos. I can’t think of the last time I wore mine. I agree, people love the aesthetic and celebrities/influencers have been spotted with them with really drove the popularity. What! The Adidas Gazelles are so popular right now, you got them at the right time! Call me vanilla but I prefer a plain white leather sneaker for myself and I love the M Gemi palestra due sneakers.

Here's the thing. Low profile sneakers by design dont offer all day comfort, because the sole is not substantial enough to offer the cushion and arch support. I can tell you from experience that the Campo is not much more comfortable than the Esplar. It's more of a chunky sneaker, but the V-10 is a lot more comfortable and flexible, plus they can accept a custom insole if you want it to have that extra comfort. While they are not as low profile as the Esplar, I feel like they are not as chunky as an AF1, but still offers the same athletic aesthetic. The V-12 is also a nice option, but I found them a little narrower.

I bought them for 115 dollars. And that was the only reason I bought them because that was a %50 sale lol and I don't even know if I found them less or more comfortable than my nike blazer lows.. I just acted impulsively at the time knowing I don't have any resposibilty in my life 😂 overall I don't recommend them however they were far less painful than the horrible adidas continentals 80

@@raishamaesape6135 I personally wouldn’t recommend them for travel but I know they’re popular. I originally got Vejas because I heard they were so comfy but I ended up buying the M Gemi white sneakers as a replacement for my trip to Italy because I knew the Vejas would be too uncomfortable.
