How detrimental is the pump action towards quick target acquisition?

When shooting at close distances i'd say up to 25 meters, it is not that bad, same time as to get back on target as a pump-action shotgun probably. However at longer distances (100 meters) as in the video, you lose almost the entire sight picture as the pump action itself is countered by a very stiff spring. That and the scope is only a 4x so the target (a sheet of paper) looks very very small through the scope. This gun in it's current form wasn't designed for what I'm using it here though.
