To byla bohužel Torpha, která ztratila Petra Vozába na malém vodním příkopu. Spolu s ní zemřel na taxisu sovětský Gajsan, to bylo to salto přes hlavu...

Torpha si tehdy zlomila nohu. Vaz si zlámal ten rok Gajsan, který dopadl na hlavu. Torpha to odnesla jen jako zlomeninu nohy, bohužel to byla také konečná.

I can make every fence tougher than the taxis but where would that get us? too severe and a race killer to lose so many horses so early on. however, the fence now is too easy

you can watch some history record of what Taxis has been - it is special fence, but it's possible to pass. You can make something harder but are you sure it will be still passable? I have seen a lot of Grand Pardubice steeples and I can say just that sometimes horses fall and sometimes not. I remember a year when no-one fell at Taxis. So what's the problem? And this Taxis is the old taxis, 1,5 metre high and 2 metres deep, the new has been weakened. If world has problem with Taxis why they have been OK for such a long time with Corrida where killing is the purpose!

Yes, Taxis was a very severe fence, as is the 6th, but that is what made this race unique. They have, I fear, done the same with this race as they have with the Grand National, and just turned it into a long distance steeplechase, I am a horse rider, and don't like to see horses injured or killed, but that is part of the sport sadly, and after watching the 2016 race yesterday, I fear that the race has lost a lot of magic....just my opinion...

I think it's the responsibility of coaches and all the staff behind the horse to decide, whether he is ready to race such race. But everyone is too greedy, they hope they can make some result even if the horse isn't ready for such challenge. There are horses that never fell on Taxis
