Wonderful way to get around. When I was 15 my girlfriend and I hired one each to explore the area around Apt in Provence. Fantastic memories of riding past fields full of lavender. She was beautiful too.

I used to have one of these things. I had forgotten just how much fun they were. But they had no clutch ,acceleration pedal and required furious pedalling uphill.!!

Maybe you got a real old model. 1010 And before. They had no centrifugal clutch. But a healthy engine. Does run uphill no problem 😉 really steep maybe it loses 5+ km/h

When I was 15 years old (1975), I had a Velosolex 3800, built in 1966. It was my first motor vehicle. Today I would like to have such a cool thing again, but they have become really expensive.

I picked up a junk example for fairly cheap. Just yesterday I got done rebuilding it and it runs wonderful. Great and easy project. Get you one

Really?? Huh. Its one of the most made mopeds in the world. There are made many many millions of these 😊 but they are really fun. I think most made moped in the world is a velo solex. Then a puch maxi. Second place 😅

Hehe. It was really common too. But ist a fun moped. I have so many (real) mopeds. But a old velo solex is always fun. The solex flash/4600 is my favorite models.

You should really raise the blades on your lawnmower. Oh, it's a bike? Just kidding. Lots of small engines don't have good mufflers and they all sound samey to me but this piece has been restored wonderfully and is worthy of praise. I never noticed one of these with a headlight before but it is a great idea for an engine on the front wheel. Huh. Also that kooky exhaust pipe and muffler is hilarious.

It's probably the moped that is most manufactured in the world. There are many many millions of these. They really fun. And this is actually totally original condition. Paint and chrome. Engine.

Thanks for the info, The velosolex on that movie looks like it was in a bad condition... Do you know the displacement of the engine block? 30cc? 50cc?

@@Kevz916 yeah definitely in bad condition. Its a 49cc engine all velo solex have the same engine. With minor changes. And all normal velo solex does 30km/h.
