This is the cheapest 40 S&W JHP on the market, and they actually work-- the 40 s&w expands and the 10mm doesn't over-expand and under-penetrate. I like the fact that these aren't the lightweight projectiles that ammo companies are starting to offer in 40 cal as a cost-saving measure (for them), so you get more reliable penetration. No, these aren't the hottest loads in either 40 S&W or 10mm, but they're not anemic either. Best of all, at this price, you can actually use the same ammo for both practice and self-defense, and have the added confidence in your own skills and ammo/weapon combo that that brings. I found SGAmmo from this video, and just ordered 1000 40 S&W from you guys because of this video, and I expect to be coming back for more if these work well in at least some of my 40's.

That 10mm is better than most but it is still slow. The 40 is a tad quicker than most 180 grain 40. Well done.

I have not tested them. Its on my list of stuff to do but supply is very limited on that one. I think in 8 years or so of dealing with Magtech we have had 1 or 2 shipments, not a product we can get on a regular basis

Gel results are good. The velocities for the 40 are respectable. That is good to see. The 10 looks good in bare gel but I want at least 1250 out of a 10 with 180. But again if this bullet performs against clothing then it would be an effective self defense option. It wouldn't be a top choice for hunting or bear defense.

The Magtech 10B had as good or better velocity in this 4.5" barrel than a lot of other 10mm stuff we tested in a longer 6" barrel, and it is important to understand we are testing in 4.5" barrel, not a 5" or 6" barrel (a lot of 10mm test velocity are rated on a 5" or 6" barrel", and that extra 1/2" to 1.5" makes a big difference in velocity). We wanted to compare the 40 cal and 10mm in similar barrel lengths to actually see the velocity difference between 10mm and 40 cal velocity (which the test shows clearly), not just maximize velocity of the 10mm. Given the barrel length and velocity achieved, it seems to be in the velocity range one would hope for.

Anything less than 1200 with a 180 in 10mm is too slow.

@@grumpydanomaybe not but my 10mm is for hunting where gel test at a few feet don’t matter because shots are very rarely that close. If I wanted 40 velocity I’d just put 40 in it. You pay extra you should get extra.

​@@SGAmmo_LLCquit lumping people together. Many people buy a 10mm gun to say they have a 10mm gun. Some people buy a 10mm gun so they can do 10mm sorts of things. Those people expect full power 10mm ammo. The ammo you tested IS better than many 10mm loads. It is still well short of full power loads. It is weak assed shit.

​@@SGAmmo_LLCSig Sauer produces 10mm rated at around 1250. Buffalo Bore and Underwood are even quicker with a 180 grain bullet.
