A car is at rest at a stop traffic light. The moment the light turns green a truck rolls up the line with a constant velocity of 20 m/s. At the instant the truck is next to the car, the car begins to accelerate as shown in the schematic and velocity-time graph on the right.
How much time does it take for the car to catch up to the truck?
How much distance is covered from the start line to when the car
catches up to the truck?
(C) What is the velocity of the car when it catches up to the truck?
(D) At what time when both vehicle have the same instantaneous
velocity?
(E) How far apart are the two vehicles when they have the same v(t)?
(F) How much time will it take for the two vehicles to be 200 m apart?
