Bertrand Russell is a mathematician and a philosopher, he is one of the great minds of all times. It is wrong to cherry pick and misinterpret what he may have wrote in his book about Buddha. If anybody wants to know what he really has said about religions, you may google and read or can listen to his own words in the you tube. He has rejected after life and Gods and made it clear all religions are dangerous to human beings.

May I suggest that perchance you missed the important message in this lecture. For I am sure you are quite learned, so sure I am that you have spent many hours and resources to attain this knowledge. The purpose of religion is to guide human beings into a good life. What is good is up for debate, but on most we can agree. Human beings are not yet endowed to spent the hours and resources required to live on the edge of human knowledge. For that purpose we have religion. Science is yet another religion, which is very hard and expensive and inaccesible to follow. A good enough telescope to witness the scale and beauty of the universe is out of financial scope for the majority of individuals and communities. Internet, like radio and the aeroplane, have brought knowledge closer to the general people. We must remain aware of the fact that most of these things are still not available to a near majority of human beings on earth. For this purpose, religion still remains. Through kindness, respect, understanding or say compassion we must allow this to remain available to those in need. More than cleverness, we need kindness.

Talking about mind without "brain" is like talking about a tail without a dog......because "mind is what the brain doest" Iron age Siddhartha Goutha had no idea as to how the mind and brain works.

Sir/ Madam,I think you have very little information/ knowledge about Siddharth Gautam. He knew very well about, how mind and brain works. He has taught beautiful Dhamma to come out of all the bondages and suffering . He himself has experienced it and gave us the same path to follow ❤️.Be happy!!
