Sam has such mental strength...gluing the large sail to the mast in a wet storm...that was a heroic feat. 36 hours of work!!! Sam always took everything in his stride, never lost courage. I see him in the top three in 2028/29. Congratulations Sam on 9th place.🎉🎈🍾

Sam is so calm and level headed. Boat design and speed yes, weather conditions and being able to stay ahead if the fronts, choices and luck. Great that he finished.

Great show! Clarisse overcomes yet another obstacle with a smile and a tear. Brilliant. Sam is a first class sailor for sure, in so many ways.

Congratulations Ben and Clarisse. If the finish in La Rochelle was not planned, you will be celebrated twice...La Rochelle and Les Sables.🎉🎉

Benjamin & Clarisse finishing up in Force 7-8 was truly amazing. We are waiting for Violette Dorange, such a perfect sailor in all respect.

Much respect to those finishing through the storm - not easy! Wishing them all a safe finish

Completely agree. The conditions look horrific in the Bay of Biscay. It's pretty grim here in the UK!

Excellent coverage. I'm not a sailing, or even a follower, but this has been riveting. I've watch daily. Congratulations to all involved.

Thank you! It's been a great learning experience presenting and editing the videos. Glad you're enjoying them and I hope it leads to you starting sailing yourself!

Congratulations Sam, followed you and your videos all the way around. I don't know how you felt when your Main ripped, I was gutted, but you didn't give up, and carried on, absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to following your next race. Can't wait for the next Vendée Globe. Thank you.

Ooff.... what a finish in those winds and waves! And after all that, knowing that after finally saying hurray, you have to turn and head a couple of hours into a completely different direction, in the same heavy wind and waves! I was asking myself whether both dutreux and crémer could at least have a fellow crewmember onboard for those extra hours, but that must have been completey impossible to do in those conditions.

Can anyone explain why there has been virtually zero coverage of the VG in the UK media inspite of this being such a big sailing nation.

Join the club! We have had virtually no coverage here in New Zealand a country with great off shore sailing heritage

In Italy any sport different from soccer is covered only if Italy wins. And believe me, you don’t want to experience the quality of that kind of coverage

Every sailor can sail in good conditions. But only the best of the best are able to sail in bad conditions and with special unplanned challenges.

Couldn’t believe that clip of a worn out Charlie Dalin being dragged around umpteen media interviews in Paris

Please explain what you mean by the "storm" finish line. How is that different than the regular finish line?
