I love the way water colours can do their own thing and looking at the dome, I can see every little detail in the building. Even though there isn't any. I think the skill of a great watercolour artist is to make the paint do its own thing. Damn you for making it look so simple! 😂

watched again for the ? time. I just wanted to say I know exactly where this building is located. I was in Venice a few years ago and got to experience what it was like to have no automobiles. what a lovely and clean place. We got a chance to go to Murano and saw Santa Maria Della Salute island ? on the way. I love this picture and watched you paint it so many times. I just keep clicking it. thanks

Trevor is a true unique artist especially with watercolour. I think he stands alone, by not drawing first and then painting over the lines, I can never see the point when other artists have something already pre drawn and then proceed to 'paint by numbers'. No one is ever going to really learn how watercolour behaves unless it is given its freedom. Even John Singer Sargent, (although he drew first,) would often ignore his lines in order to paint more freely. Bravo! Trevor.

I could listen to your music all day. I can see why painting the way you do looks so beautiful. You must be so relaxed and into your ideas to be able to translate what you hear into what you see. Your music compliments your painting perfectly. love it and sub'd

How easy you make this difficult technique look !!! Watching your demo was quite fantastic-what a skill you have to make an evocative painting. After trying to paint this way I know it is a rare talent to use watercolour in such a free and expressive way.I am trying very hard to do this kind of work but keep reverting back to tight drawing !!! Thank you so much.

I think Trevor has given up on finding the right brush. He uses a magic wand instead. Of all the videos on 'KZbin', painting with watercolour always grabs my attention. To be sure, there are some wonderful artists on here, however, mostly all, draw first, then paint to their guide lines. (I lose many friends by calling this painting by numbers). No so Trevor, he fearlessly attacks the paper with water, colour and brush. I work this way myself, so I know how hard it is and how skillful you need to be. Most of the time, I get it wrong, whereas Trevor gets it right straightaway and boy how it shows. Thank you Trevor for showing how watercolour should be applied in all its glory. You are a true Master.

I love how you achieve that beautiful watercolour look. The quality of your brush marks and application of colours is outstanding. You make it look so easy, but it certainly is not. May i ask which colours you use on the Venetian painting demonstration? I have started painting again ,after a 40 plus year break. I am loving the challenges i am encountering. Thank you for your inspirational video. I love the subtle colour choice.

I'm trying to decide if I should use arcylics or watercolors. As a newbie, I find that acrylics and oils let you get closer to what you are aiming easier than watercolors. I also think that my cheap pan paints are causing me a lot of trouble with watercolor. I will need to buy some quality tubes and give it a go. Thanks for the video.
