Thought I might offer my own testing here for anyone curious. About 8-10 hours ago I ran threw the list of things that I could to see if a build might be viable/strong (I want to use my Arcanas and Sky feels real bad). Neutrals: Lance of Pursuit, Broom Handle, and Orb of Destruction all grant the melee sided benefits (for BH that means more ranged, for the others that means better slow). Stuff like specialists array or grove bow naturally still work also (and thusly that includes Dlance and Pike). Boots: Treads and Phase both grant melee benefits (faster move speed and higher phase % increase). - Echo/Harpoon double attack works. - Bash grants better (25%) chance - Orb of Venom/Corrosion grants melee slow effect. - Manta grants melee damage bonus. - Battle fury works (which also means magnus empower cleave and other similar cleave bonuses). - No uphill miss. Does not grant: Quelling blade damage bonus, Vanguard (Crimson and Abyssal) melee damage block, no innate melee damage block). This is to be expected since it was supposed to only be for attack stuff but oddly enough boots work as mentioned above. Who knows might get patched in or out. Naturally a lot of the above stuff is not granted to illusion either, no passives outside of auras. Enjoy, and use responsibly :D I think the potential for orb of venom and/or corrosion (even more with lance neutral) for some lanes as well as echo flexibility can be interesting but there are likely far more broken things this patch. If I missed something just ask or add, I wrote most of this from memory. edit: Orb of Destruction not Corruption.

Yup. Venge is now melee for item usage. This is the most exiting change for me with this patch as venge was my main carry back in the day before her huge agi nerfs and passive nerf. This should make her into a good core again.

You benefit from melee items but count as ranged, so yeah, echo and DL work, basher gets the better chance ect. Basically you can use any item to it's maximum effect.

I feel validated by this video. I played 4 mid venge games yesterday (all wins) and though all of these different things like no uphill miss, echo sabre, harpoon, hurricane pike and 1.5 base attack time felt really really good, but I wasn't sure if I ws just being lucky with the matchmaking or if it was a placebo effect. Seeing Waga comming to the same conclusions is proof that this hero and facet are really good.

They don't care how many times you set up kill or save them with your ult or how your illusion provides a shit ton of vision. I have 2 games where all my team reported me even though my score was the best with minimal death and a lot of assists, and close to 2k support gold.
