How did this happen?! All of you who have taken the time to vote, share, and support, you have landed me in the finals of this ‪@guitarworld‬ / ‪@martinguitar‬ #NoLimitsChallenge!

This time I got to choose to play whatever I wanted, so I opted for a section of an original--this is called "Venice."
Again, I don’t view any form of art as a competition, but I agreed to participate in this because I felt that it could be an opportunity to grow as a musician and to get to know the other amazing players who are part of this challenge.
I didn’t expect to make it past the first round, much less find myself in the finals. I am so very happy if some of you have enjoyed the arrangements of Alice In Chains and Weezer (remember, they are both available for free!).
It’s now down to me and the absolutely wonderful ‪@HelenIbemusic‬. If you don’t know her already, check her out. She’s a lovely light, a beautiful musician.

Some say guitar is dead. Really? This young lady's composition alone is beyond amazing. Her technique is incredible and beyond that, serves the song. I am so thankful for musicians who push outside the box of our collective musical tunnel vision and create music that speaks to the listener. I like "in your face" guitar work also, don't misunderstand. I miss the songs that have subtle complexity, songs that make you sit back and carry you away. It took me back to the days when Brian Wilson amazed us with beautiful harmonic complexities. Gretchen has really created a masterpiece without any distraction from the song itself. Thank you!!!
