Venom DLC Gameplay Overview in Marvel's Midnight Suns

I was initially going to just do a quick combat mission breakdown showcasing Venom, but I liked the character enough to want to sit down and talk about the update as a whole.

I still wish they'd let you run 2 or more missions in one day with different characters. It would be so much better having to make different team combinations. They teleport everywhere anyway.

He’s a COOL character for sure. I like him a lot, but it disappointed me a bit to see he wasn’t a tanky character but what I learned about this game is the ability mods can shift a characters identity. I want make him a brawler. Maybe add some taunt to his tendril strike or web toss and gaining block on KO. Something to make him really feel like monster since he has high dps output potential. Deadpool was a bit different for me too with the en fuego passive but I did like how they were trying something new. I plan on driving back into Midnight Suns again since I’ve got new content to test so hopefully I can come with some spicy tech! Good to see you making more MS content as well!

Lol his Legendary card is crazy if you get it at the start of the fight. Just one turn the whole map If you have two lethal protectors.

The best part of this DLC is the climax mission. After him transforming off screen the whole game, I kinda expected it to just never happen. Then he turns right at the final boss and it feels SO GOOD.

Every source I've looked at says you can play the Venom missions after the belltower. In my playthrough, it didn't unlock until the start of chapter two, after destroying the Venomwebs with the Faithbreaker suit. Is this a Fresh run vs. New Game+ issue or just a glitch for me?

Game definitely feels like it runs smoother and getting to see the actual number on the enemy HP bar now is great. Hopefully they fix the glitch where 2 enemies spawn on the same square eventually, it has been around since launch and is unbelievably annoying. As far as Venom I'm pretty much with ya, he's okay, not the utter trash heap that Deadpool was but he slots pretty well into the mid tier with Blade, Wolverine, etc. Ironically I think he might be a bit better than Spider-Man lol.

Haven’t run into the double spawn yet post update, but we’ll see. I still can’t get over how wack Deadpool is. At the very least Venom can slot in as a replacement damage dealer with sustainable buffs and I’m fine with that.

@@TheOrderofDylan Happened to me on Ps5 last night =/ Deadpool's problem is he needs to get En Fuego rolling to be useful but En Fuego takes so long to build up and is so easy to lose. It's the Binary problem cranked up to 11. Taking the time to play Deadpool cards or use All Together Now to buff his En Fuego is a huge time waste because you could just be using those card plays to win the battle. Even when En Fuego is maxed or near max, it really doesn't boost his damage enough to justify the card plays it took to build it up. Best use I've found for him is as a debuff/mark bot dishing out vulnerable and what not. Boom Headshot!, Mag Dump, and his Chain Quick aren't the worst cards ever so I pretty much just have him use those. You have to take at least 1 skill so I usually take All Together Now and just mod it so it gives me something on redraw since I redraw it 99.9% of the time lol.

@@trashasaurus 100%, I just also think that his deck just doesn’t really synergize well in a way that makes sense or builds on itself. Like, All Together Now is his big skill card, but all it’s doing is pulling generic card draws. That’s it. This is Deadpool we’re talking about here, the possibilities are endless, and he’s….drawing cards. Kind of a microcosm of his shortcomings.

@The Order of Dylan yeah, All Together Now needs redraw last attack or something. If i wanna pull cards into my hand why would i ever use All Together Now over stuff like Balanced Collar, Brooklyn Handshake, Agamattos Gaze, Leave it to Me, etc? It is just straight up worse than almost every other card that does the same job.

I don’t know if anyone will ever respond to this. I just started playing the game and I’m really enjoying it so far. I honestly would like to see some different builds for the various characters. I don’t know if that’s possible and it’s been a year since this video. I’m still brand new to the game and I do not understand how to play xcom type games. I will also say the hulk should be a mix of tank and damage dealer, but more of a damage dealer. The hulk should also have an additional passive that says “The more damage the hulk takes the more damage he deals and the less damage he takes”. This is just me though.

Deadpool was quite disappointing. Blade is better overall. Venom looks useful but unfortunately with a small pool of characters, we’re starting to see little use of using anyone other than the best ones

Why would you need a tanks in this game just mod your cards and finish/clear the mission in one turn, I play in ultimate 3 difficulty and still a joke when you have your heroes fully moded
