Help a Bro out and subscribe. Bone stock Venom Ghost top speed run / short ride. This bike isn't going 90mph that's for sure.
Riding the Venom Ghost 250cc. Also known as Dongfang DF250RTR. It has the same engine as the RPS Hawk 250, X22R, SSR Buccaneer, SG250 , RTD Retro , RTR Retro, Venom Sportster Chopper, Venom KPX 250cc, Magician 250cc, X-Pro Titan and numerous others. The engine in reality is a 229cc labeled as a 250cc.

Thanks a bunch for the video straight to the point TY. I have a kmp 200 has 6 gears . 1st is pointless unless on a pretty big hill and 6th gear gets you to about 65-68 . Feels like wind resistance plays a big roll with these bikes 😅

YW. That's good to know. I was so close to buying a KPR 200. Yeah, the wind definitely does. The day after I posted this, I had the bike at 72. I'm going to change my rear sprocket and hopefully get 75-80 out of this bike.

It sounds real busy, one more gear would have been nice but maybe front sprocket resize would help.
@thelagmeister

Yeah, one more gear would have been nice. I actually changed the rear sprocket and the top speed didn't change at all. It ran smoother with less vibration and longer gears but lost some top end.

Do you have to be mechanically inclined and do your own work on this bike or will most motorcycle shops work on it for you? I had one dealer tell me they don't work on those Chinese bikes.
@thelagmeister
@thelagmeister Жыл бұрын
I would have to say yes. While you could take it to the shop, it's better to work on your own bike. Most of the time you need some basic mechanic tools. The Chinese bikes are ok if you take care of them. You really need to change the oil often in the first 1000 miles, make sure the valves and clutch cable are adjusted which isn't hard to do.

I have a lifan and all the work on it has been fairly basic. The most advanced thing was the valve adjustment, but honestly just getting the top cover off with little clearence is the biggest issue. I bought a ratching wrench that does odd angled and it sped my process up 100x. But yeah, with pretty basic tools and usually no special tools, you can do all your own work on these bikes. There's always a KZbin vid that'll show you how to do it.
@thelagmeister
@thelagmeister Жыл бұрын
@@domenik8339 The Ghost 250 has the same problem. There is no room around the valve cover. Basic tools and a feeler gauge get the job done. On a GY6 I can get the valves done in no time. Ghost 250 good luck. The flex head ratchet wrenches are boss.

I’m deciding between this and the 2024 cf-Moto Papio. But am having trouble finding an exact price on the papio. What do you think the better deal would be for a first time rider?
@thelagmeister
@thelagmeister 3 ай бұрын
I think it depends on your size, weight, and what you plan on using the bike for. Long rides? Highway/freeway riding? Just around town? The Papio looks cool, but I would still go with the Ghost between the two. I seen a Papio for $3,300 just now. The ghost would leave it in the dust and is cheaper. Despite the fact you are a first time rider, don't let that discourage you from getting a bigger bike. For $3,000 + you should see if you have a Royal Enfield dealer nearby and check out their 350cc bikes. You get a better bike that you can make payments on and the ones I've been looking at have a 3 year warranty.

@@thelagmeister alright yeah I’m looking for mostly around town riding and I have mostly 25-55 mph ride zones so I just wanted to have a bike that can comfortably do those speeds. I was gonna check out Royal ENFIELD because I love the classic design of older looking bikes. Thanks for the info

@@jacoblewis6237 Oh ok. I would definitely go with the Ghost. Also check the Venom Sportster. It has the same engine as the Ghost for $500 cheaper. I have to add if you are a big dude the Ghost I would call a mid size bike. I'm 5'7 170lbs and it fit me perfect.

The bike stock is geared like a tractor. The gears are way too short. You can go through a 90 degree curve or a roundabout in 4th. 1st and 2nd are almost pointless. Even If I revved out 4th during this run the bike still wouldn't have gone any faster.
