Fr like they removed the Stam drain which I haven't seen anyone complain about the venom because only two things have it. Because they removed the stam drain think is should have the same effect as bleed but do less damg but the reason I disagree with the update is because meg was already kinda weak

Meg needs bleed. It's thought that Meg had a type of venom/bacteria in its mouth which prevented blood clotting which meant they watched their prey bleed out. Venom is useless in many ways. If you put a ton of venom on someone, they just won't sprint. Maybe if venom slowed the dino and made the attacks weaker, that would be more viable. Venom could potentially just cause your health to decrease as that's what venom should do.

Now wonder Meg is getting whooped! I fought a Novi and this man was still chasing me after I bit him multiple times and continued to chase me! He was able to do good damage with just his tail so this hurt alot!

Honestly i think that venom needs a rework, if the meg is going to be the only one to have venom. it shouldn't take stam it should work like this, a meg bites you then it slowly takes your stam and once the stamina is gone then it slowly drains your hp by 1 a second until you either make the meg a dead or you get away from it and do not take anymore bites from a meg for a period of 3-5 minutes. There should be other creatures with venom but like other forms of venom. Venom that knocks a dinosaur out or weakens it for it to die. Or paralysis venom not just simply stamina draining venom. And we need creatures with those abilities, even blinding venom.

Honestly not a big fan of this change, I don’t see why they would wanna nerf venom and poison since it’s so rare now. If they are gonna keep this change they should allow Meg to have some more sense slots that allow it to change between venom and bleeding (since that’s what it’s venom does in real life) if they let it have that then they should revert the change. Cause honestly if this happens the Meg will literally be a slight tougher Cerato with a weaker bite that can swim

So do they just hate Meg or something? Yeah the damage buff and stamina is nice but they can't do anything to it without nerfing it's very limited kit. Venom was fairly weak before this and now it's even worse. They should make venom just basically make you weaker the more it's stacked, like your turn speed gets gutted or you can't run very fast while also having water drain slowly as if your sick.

I’m glad they nerfed it. This is a great change imo. I stopped playing the game partially because of venom. I cannot explain to you how many times as a solo player I would get envenomed and then suddenly several other Dino’s would show up and I can’t run away or do anything. It was never fair because of the way people used it. 1v1s it was fair, but it was never used that way.

I said it once and I'll say it again. We need DIFFERENT VENOM TYPES. Ones that do different things. Like one that blurres your vision, one that completely reverses your controls, and one that can blind you. This keeps the same thing that venom has always been. A deterrent and digestive aid. I mean if you really want even make a super bad venom that completely halves their stamina pool, and each subsequent envenomation halves that, give each one something special, maybe even give dinosaurs a resistance bar like in dark souls. There's a lot of vetter ways to handle it. They are becoming too narrow minded with their vison of the dinosaurs.

I am flat out okay with this.... The only venomous creature is the meg i have 0 idea why the devs gave metri venom its dumb. But the reakity is even a komodo doesnt use venom as a killing tool they use it to stop clotting of the bite wound and given meg is a varanid just like the komodo its venom would have been similar its not going to work like a cobra. I would even go as far as to say something like the meg would have likely been a grab and hold hunter and then simply swallow it since it was probably the biggest creature in its area so venom likely wouldnt have been a bug factor for it to begin with. I would say make venom be a debuff on top of a debuff give the meg a very small amount of bleed like the lowest on its bite but also a unique perk in that its bleed cant be stopped by simply sitting down it must be waited out this would make it to where megs would dog you making sure the bleed stays on but makes them want hit and run this woukd also mean probably nerfing the dmg of the initial bite but a pack of megs would be like seeing those packs of komodo on a documentry following the ever weakening prey.

I’m not gonna lie I’m a bit surprised by this. I wonder if the Meg is gonna be going in a different direction, and these are just the beginning steps. They changed Metri completely moved away from venom, since Komodo’s really do rely on their venom to catch prey. Since they lowered their cw, nerfed their venom and changed party to 2 slot. Their tails are longer, megs will have a harder time killing things. Since this game isn’t 100% realism obviously, leaving venom how it was before imo was better. It’s not like theirs Dinos out there healing their herds…I wish they would focus on Dinos who actually need more attention. Instead of changing certain Dinos who are playing fine.

@cargoraygaming9274 bleed does damage over time and also adds more damage to the opponent you would be attacking. Venom would be damage over time perhaps less so than bleed, and effects stamina. They would just need to rework it or both bleed and Venom would need to be reworked. Or no damage over time for Venom but it slows the dinos speed as well as lowers stamina but much quicker. Either damage included or nerf speed of dino. It wouldn't be bonebreak as it slows to a crawl.

They're nerfing carnis back into oblivion. Sarco will be next cause anos HATE that there is a way to combat their hunker. Allo has been treated fairly poorly too, the hatchet bite is fairly bad from what I've seen. They trashed the ceratos abilities, it was better w/ hops or the bone break. Idk about the metri, it's one of my favorites but the venom hide is kinda useless to support a retreat if needed, cause yknow...it's a support healer. I bet they're gonna nerf its healing abilities fairly quick, they're too useful fir solo play. The bleed on raptors disappearing, and them losing Stam faster w/pounce makes the pounce a detriment to survivability. Yknow, cause slick scales weren't enough to combat the pounce on drop enough. Idk, may be better to just go full herb main and play pineconepickasaurus walking simulator at this point.

It's useless now. Bleed as all ways been over powered. Venom was easy to get rid of. And useful for smaller dinos to have a fighting chances against. Bleed is just going to get stronger and make dinos that use it even more strong now

@@austinjerome5447 the Raptors bleed was not even anything to worry about compared to some of the other dinos. Also almost every single dinosaur in the game has bleed in their attacks whether they're bass attacks or any special ones they unlock later. Hell even herbivores have some bleed ability. But there were two and only two dinos that had anything to do with Venom attacks. Now there's only one, the meg.Meg. The metri is now a stolen copy of the yutyrannis mod now.

I don't think that change is completely useless. Mini dinosaurs already have attacks that drained stamina on their own, especially the alberta. It just makes them have to think more when using these attacks against the meg.

Megalania is just a problem child as it is. It does not belong in the game As much as I love monitor lizards, it wouldn't stand a chance in the Mesozoic. Which means making it viable inherently makes it overpowered. Oh and the venom doesn't make any sense. Venom doesn't operate like actual venom. It really should just be bleed that doesn't go away with rest and takes forever to work but that wouldn't be gameplay friendly.

The meg had 3 roles : - killing babies - setting up a dino for a group of high tiers (allos, rexes, spinos, etc) - be generally annoying because it cant kill anything wether the meg is solo or with other megs It's a very good idea from Alderon Games to absolutely destroy this poison mechanic, as it was utter garbage and provided no benefit to the game in any way. The meg did not exist as a dinosaur, and was 100% its poison : apply poison, run, wait for poison to run out, apply poison, ... This poison mechanic sapping stamina also reinforced mixpacking as mentionned above, and was particularily laughable with the ano, as 3-4 rexes would gang on an ano that could not do anything (no stam = no tail slam) and would take a whole 5 minutes of spamming left-click to die. Sad that they did not choose to rework, but nerf it to the ground. Still better than letting it be as it was before.
