He has trauma and there's this vengeful feeling inside him he always keeps suppressed. There's a comic called Spider's Shadow and another comic I forgot about where Spider-Man kills his villains after he snapped and he even slapped the crap Outta the Kingpin after he lost pretty much everyone and was about to Loose Aunt May. Contrary to popular belief, the symbiote doesn't make him evil. The symbiote believed itself to be helping Peter when it went out during night to fight crime while Peter was asleep. The symbiote was then rejected by Peter when he found it was a living thing and Eddie Brock was at his lowest point in life after losing his job, girlfriend and the goodwill in his father after the continuous humiliation and damage to his reputation for which he blamed Spider-Man and Peter and he became venom. The hatred was mutual but venom wasn't an evil villain in particular.
